My First Post

Wow! *Such* a creative first article. I'll be covering completely original territory such as my background and *gasp* why I started a writing here. Truly revolutionary.

My First Post
Kelly Sikkema

Hi there! Here are 4 facts about me:

1. I'm an actor

2. I'm a Slytherin

3. My two favorite movies are Singin' In The Rain and Up

4. If I could have any superpower I would have the power to grant wishes. That way I could wish for *any* super power and grant my own wish so basically it's the ultimate power.

5. I'm a rebel

So I'm starting this thing. What would you call it? A blog? A site? An odd conglomeration of Mabel's disjointed thoughts she thinks are important enough to share with the world? I expect it'll align most accurately with the latter, but boy that's a long title to retype every time. (Control C or no, it's a lot of work) so I think I'll call this a Thlog. Derived from the non-Latin roots Thought and Blog. Because Blog is too basic and I've already explained why I can't use the OCMDT label. (Although it does make a cool acronym, and acronyms do seem to add a certain amount of legitimacy.) To be honest I'm really following in the footsteps of giant such as PEMDAS and JROTC. I would just like to take a moment to thank one of these acronyms for majorly improving my life as civilian in America, honestly without it I would have no idea that exponents come before division. Thank you, PEMDAS, for your service. I digress. Anyway, I'm excited to share my unsolicited advice and opinions with the world and to leave a nice digital footprint I will most likely regret in a few years. Welcome to my Thlog and I hope you enjoy attempting to follow my sporadic train of thought and find my jokes as funny as I do.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
