This past week, I got my first chance to experience the area outside of Rider University in Princeton, along with visiting the historical university, Princeton University. The amount of places to explore within this area's proximity really made this experience worthwhile. Thanks to my best friends, Ashley and Chris took my girlfriend and I across some favorite spots and allowed us to explore this great area. I noticed many different aspects of this area, including the kindness and wealthiness of its people, and talked to my parents about how they would always love to live there, or maybe retire there in the future. The first part of our trip let us see Rider's Westminster's campus, which was small but filled lively with music and the playing of all kinds of instruments. It was really beautiful to hear not only opera music, but someone singing their own native language's music and someone else playing the clarinet. Though it may seem insignificant, the sights and sounds of this campus just made this journey all much more the while worth it because it continued along with different cultures into Princeton by only walking a few blocks away from Westminster. Our group visited a record store, with all the music you could ever think of.
As you can see, it is not a big nor grand entrance to this store, but the amount of unique music and Blurays and DVDs you can find here really makes it worth it. We found everything from The Outsiders movie to the original Beatles albums including A Hard Day's Night and Rubber Soul.
Next we went to a middle eastern restaurant called Mamoun's Falafel. I thoroughly enjoyed my shawarma sandwich, which included Lamb and lettuce, tomatoes and signature spices. I highly recommend this place due to its great atmosphere and great food, which included in my dish, french fries with garlic sauce that I could eat everyday if I could. This trip included a lot of great food, which continued as we visited chocolate stores, that gave us free pumpkin flavored samples in the forms of truffles and a really great crepe place called Jammin Crepes on Nassau Street. The amount of flavor as well as texture of the crepe and powdered sugar really made the Jammin good crepe, which you can customize to your liking, with any of their homemade seasonal jams (we tried the cranraspberry and chocolate crepes which were fantastic to say the very least). All these great memories that will make my first experience ever to Princeton, which we later made our way to the University, where we saw such scenery and noteworthy agriculture, makes me want to go back again and explore all the other things that I missed the first time.
