Over the past few years my love for makeup and beauty has grown so much. I find myself spending a good chunk of my money on different makeup products, and I spend a lot of my free time watching makeup tutorials on YouTube. My fave makeup guru is Casey Holmes (S/O to Casey!) If you are just a beginner at makeup or advanced, go check out her channel if you have not already! She is amazing!

Here are some of my favorite makeup and beauty products!

Face:

1. Dermablend Cover Creme - $39

This is great for covering literally anything! It has a sunscreen in it, but also a foundation-like feature. This will cover anything. It has been shown on YouTube videos that it will cover tattoos. I have tested this on my scar on my neck from my total thyroidectomy surgery, and it covers it up so well, and it looks as if the scar was never even there. I am telling you... this is AMAZING!

2. Soap and Glory One Heck of a Blot Foundation - $19

This liquid foundation is amazing! It will make your skin look flawless and it will appear even toned and fresh.

3. CoverGirl Ready Set Gorgeous Powder Foundation - $7

For the price of this foundation, it is amazing. It works as well as some of the higher end products I have tried in the past. It does exactly what you would expect a powder foundation to do. I love this one so much!

4. Wet and Wild Coloricon blush in Mellow Wine - $3

These blushes are so pigmented! Depending on how bright or deep you want your cheeks to look, will help you know how much to apply. I will say if you don't want a huge dramatic look, use a very light hand. It applies so well and blends very well also.

5. Ulta Velvet Blush in Melrose - $9

These blushes are also great! They give the cheekbones a perfect color and there are so many color choices. From a really pinky look to a deep red color, there is so many different options.

6. Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Highlighters in Radiant Lights - $6

I have recently started using this highlighter and it gives your upper cheekbones such a beautiful glow. It is so pigmented and they are really great colors. They have a perfect amount of shimmer in them too!

7. Elf Contour Palette - $6

This palette is perfect for beginners. It has four basic colors that will work on any skin color.

8. Ulta Professional Matte Prime - $18

This primer is by far my favorite out of all the ones I've tried. This one will not only mattify your skin, but also it will even out skin tone. When you squeeze the bottle, the primer will come out in a green color, and once applied and blended into your skin, it will even out the skin tone. I love the green color!

Eyes:

1. Essence I Love Stage Eyeshadow Base - $4

This is a perfect primer for eyes. It works very well and it is a great price! My eyeshadows never crease when I apply this.

2. Urban Decay Naked Palettes - $54 Each

Lets be real, all the Naked palettes are absolutely amazing. They have so many colors and so many different looks can be created from the palettes. They are expensive, but are super useful and the colors are beautiful!

4. Makeup Revolution Vivid Shimmer Brick - $7

This shimmer brick is one of my absolute faves! It is the perfect top color for any eyeshadows. I love for my makeup looks to have a shimmer factor, as I love sparkles. So this is perfect for what I want!

5. NYX Skinny Mascara - $7

The wand of this mascara is super tiny. It works perfect for my bottom lash line and it doesn't get all over like a regular mascara wand.

6. Benefit Roller Lash Super- Curling and Lifting Mascara - $24

This mascara is amazing! It makes my lashes look so fluffy and long. I have naturally long lashes, but this mascara just emphasizes them even more.

7. NYX Felt Tip Eyeliner - $10

This eyeliner is perfect. It is super easy to use, and when used it lets out enough product so it appears as a crisp black color. I love how small it is, which makes it easy to glide on my eyes without making a huge mess.

8. NYX Tinted Brow Mascara - $7

This tinted mascara is perfect for an everyday clean cut brow look. I use this everyday and it works super well for my barely existent eyebrows. It doesn't make them look unnatural, but instead gives them a bit of color and fills them in. I love this for my eyebrows!

Lips:

1. Ulta Matte Lip Cream in Artistic - $9

These colors are amazing! I love this color because it is so subtle and natural look to it, but still gives your lips some color. These apply really nicely and have such great color.

2. Ulta Lip Crayon in Dollface - $8

I use this doll face color as an everyday color. It has a shimmery appearance to it and a pretty pink color. I love lip colors when they come in crayons, they are just so fun!

3. Wet and Wild Silk Finish Lipstick - $1

Although the prices may be super inexpensive, this lipstick is awesome! I have this lipstick in a light pink color and it is perfect to add just a little bit of shimmer to lips for any look.

Beauty:

1. Hempz Coconut Fusion Shimmering Herbal Body Souffle - $18.60

I love the way this smells. It smells like coconuts and has a pretty shimmer effect once it is applied to the skin! It moisturizes really well and makes your skin feel very soft.

2. Freeman Feeling Beautiful Face Masks - $5

I have three different bottles of these masks. They have so many different ones for all skin types and conditions. I really like them, and for the price, they are great buys!

3. Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer - $10

This lotion is perfect to give you a summer tan look. It will tan your body and still moisturize like a regular lotion. But make sure to be careful when you apply it, because it is a self-tanner.

4. Neutrogena Wave - $15

This works really well and gives my skin a really good deep clean feeling. Also leaves my skin feeling super soft and hydrated.

5. Biore Deep Cleansing Pore Strips - $16

These work great to get out tough blackheads in the nose and chin!

6. Biore Deep Pore Cleansing Charcoal Cleanser - $8

This cleanser is so deep cleansing. When applied to my skin, I can feel a tingly feeling and it deep cleans your pores so there is no traces of makeup or other dirt left behind.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Sister | Brother Style - Word Press

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
