For a while now, Hip-Hop has grown to become my all-time favorite music genre. Hip-Hop has always been an important factor in my childhood. I remember growing up listening to Lauryn Hill, Nas, Kanye West, Missy Elliot and many more artists, and feeling a sense of pride every time I heard the melodies and voices that comprised of the Hip-Hop community in the late 90’s and the early to mid 2000’s.

Hip-Hop, like any other genre, evolves and meets new sounds, faces, voices, and messages, and I have to thank Hip-Hop for being a consistent factor in my upbringing and for playing an essential role in the person who I claim to be today.

I have decided to compile a small playlist of some of my favorite Hip-Hop songs from the 90’s into the early to mid 2000’s. Some of these songs you may know and some of them you may not know, either way, If you are reading this, I genuinely urge you to take a listen to all of these songs.
