My Weekend Trip To Atlantic City

From the beach to meeting Brody Jenner!

My Weekend Trip To Atlantic City

This summer, I had the chance to go to Atlantic City, New Jersey for the first time. I honestly had no idea what to expect but I have only heard good things about it from my friends. Now, I am glad that I went because I had an amazing time and would definitely go back! Here are some of the places and things that we got to do in AC. Not only did I get to have fun experiences here but I also got the chance to meet Brody Jenner!

Sheraton Hotel

I went with my sister and her friends on this trip and we stayed at the Sheraton Hotel. This was a really nice hotel that is located within walking distance of the Tanger Outlets and the Boardwalk. I felt like it was the perfect distance from everything. The cost wasn’t even that much because I split it with my sister and her friend so that we really had to spend $200 for the weekend each. You can get it for a lot cheaper when staying with more people. I liked staying at this hotel because we could party all night but still come back to a quiet hotel.

Tropicana

My sister’s friends stayed at this hotel. This hotel had everything. There were floors full of casinos and tables for blackjack and poker. I don’t know much about this because I never played it before but if you are someone who loves this then this is definitely for you. I attempted to risk my five dollars on one of the slot machines, got mad because I didn’t win anything, and gave up. So that was the end of that. There were also tons of restaurants, bars, and shopping. Next time I go, I might even consider staying here.

Tanger Outlets

While exploring after getting to our hotel, we immediately came across these outlets located right outside. This outlet has so much shopping that it felt like I was in heaven but I had to control myself since I had to save my money for the nightlife. They had stores such as Charlotte Russe, H&M, Michael Kors, Calvin Klein, and more! If you are looking to get any shopping done while you are in Atlantic City, then make sure you stop by here.

Boardwalk and the Beach

Since I had a really busy summer, this was my first time going to the beach for this year. It was definitely well spent at this beach where there were tons of camera-ready moments. The Boardwalk had tons of shopping, restaurants, and even psychic readings. Turns out I am going to live a long and healthy life till almost a hundred so that was comforting to hear. I even had a delicious red velvet cupcake at Boardwalk Cupcakes where they had a ton of different flavors to choose from.

Bungalow

This beach bar was one of my favorite spots when we went out one night. There were tables you could sit at and have a drink or request hookah. This bar was located right on the boardwalk and it faces the ocean. I had an awesome time on the dance floor here.

The Pool After Dark at Harrah’s Resort

This was definitely the highlight of my whole trip! This nightlife destination has the largest indoor pool party. Celebrities are constantly making appearances such as Amber Rose, Jesse McCartney, Havana Brown, Kesha, DJ Pauly D, and even Brody Jenner! I had the chance to personally meet and take a picture with Brody Jenner since he was the one making an appearance that night. As I made my way pushing people left and right in the crowd to get to the front, I finally became face to face with him. He had that celebrity glow as he looked at me as I screamed in his face, “Brody take a picture with me!” He took a picture with me and I did not know what possessed me next when I starting grabbing at his biceps like he was a toy.

As I was manhandling him, he looked confused but then winked at me so I guess it was alright. Looking back, I am completely embarrassed and I hope that next time I run into a celebrity that I don’t freak out like that again. Besides getting that amazing picture, I got to dance all night in the huge club. There was a giant pool in the middle and plenty of places to dance. People were dancing in the pool, around the pool, and at the bars. Thank god I didn’t get thrown in the pool. We stayed there for hours and it was honestly one of the best nights!

28 Daily Thoughts of College Students

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
