End Of Semester Thoughts

Just a few things, that's all.

End Of Semester Thoughts

Well, the Spring semester of my Sophomore year of college is coming to a close. It has been a tough year, emotionally and physically. I've had a lot of ups and downs with my closest friends, and am being thrilled to say they are still my closest friends (yes we made it through all the drama and chaos). My classes were challenging. I am in no ways a history person, and being in a history class is probably the worst part of my week. But I made it, and thankfully, my teacher does not believe in final exams so I'm heading into summer history free!

However, I have one main thought that I want to share. Many people who know me already know this, but I have always (and I mean always) struggled with my weight and appearance. Freshman year was my own personal hell. I gained roughly 30 pounds. I'm obviously not thrilled about this, but here is where my good news comes in! While I have not lost all the weight I gained over the course of my first year in college, I have lost about half. Okay, some of you may say "Wow thats not a big deal". But I won't be the first to tell you it is. Because on top of losing some weight, I maintained that and didn't gain anything back. Maintaining weight is probably the hardest thing bout trying to get in shape, and I'm super proud to say I did that.

So yeah. I'm not super skinny, but I'm happy. I'm happy with my progress, I'm happy with how my semester went. I'm just happy.

I hope everyone enjoys their well earned summer off. See you all in August!!

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

singing
Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
