"A dream is a wish your heart makes", or at least that's what Walt Disney said. He had it right though- every single dream I have is just a reflection of my hearts deepest desires. And I think it is important for everyone to have their own, and to write them down. To prove this, I'm going to go into detail with all of my dreams.
My first dream is to move to Australia. The idea came to me my junior year of high school, and basically emerged out of the idea that I didn't belong where I was. "Australia," I thought, "is the exact opposite of where I am now." This sprung up fantasies of studying abroad there- which I hope to do next year- and testing out where I would live once I ended up there. The plan is to move there, and the proceed with dream number two...
My second dream is to become a book editor. In my personal opinion it is the job that will let me advance the farthest and have the most successful life for myself. My plan is to get an internship next summer, and then get another internship while studying abroad in Australia. That way I have opened my horizons and will be able to get my foot in the door rather sooner than later.
My third dream is to be a writer. Or I should say to be a published author. Ideally I would win a New York Times Bestseller. I write realistic fiction, and hopefully someday I'll be able to write my own memoir on my life. I've been writing since I was a little kid, and it is one of my favorite things that brings me happiness. To be a known author would bring me so much joy.
My fourth dream is to be able to provide for my future family. Taking this farther than just money, I hope to give my future kids the childhood of their dreams, because I never got a perfect one. I plan to be the perfect mother and role model for them, so when they grow up they realize how much I mean to them.
My fifth dream is to collect all the books on my book list. This is saying a lot considering my bookshelves grew significantly my first year at college- so much in fact that I had to get a new bookshelf! There's plenty more books on my list, and I doubt I even have one fourth of the books crossed off yet, but to have plenty of bookshelves in a study would be enough for me.
My sixth dream is to be able to give back to my father once I become successful. I want to buy him the car of his dreams and to help him build the home of his dreams, and I hope to do so once I get enough money.
My seventh and final dream is fairly simple and basically every girls dream: I hope to fall in love and marry the man that's best for me. (BTW, our wedding colors will be light purple and light blue).
In conclusion, my heart is heavy from all the dreams that it holds. I hope yours is, too.
