Siblings...you gotta love them. They're the younger or older pain in the butt you're related to and have to live with for at least a few years of your life. I know a lot of people who complain about their siblings; people who say that they always fight with them or never agree with them. When I hear these things, I think, "wow, I really lucked out." Not only is my sister the most amazing person ever, she's also my best friend.

Woah! A sibling, a best friend? That can be a hit or miss, but I'm going to brag and say that my sister's the best. She's one of the people I can most rely on when I'm feeling depressed and need a shoulder to cry on or someone to talk to. She randomly texts me the sweetest messages checking up on me and making sure that school is going OK and I'm OK. I know I can spill my heart and soul to her and she'll hold all my secrets near and dear to her heart.

Being in college, it's hard to be without my best friend every day. When I go back to my dorm, it's hard to not see her there. But we talk all the time and it's great to have someone to vent to and have by my side, even though we're in different states for a majority of the time.

We weren't always like this, though. We had our handful of fights growing up, mostly about silly things, but they could be brutal. We would tattle on each other, like siblings do, call each other stupid, which was a really bad word to call someone back in the day...and not really connect on many levels.

However, all of that changed a few years ago. Something between us clicked and now we're best friends. There's no doubt in my mind that she'll be my maid of honor if I ever get married, and the godmother to one of my kids. I'm so blessed to have such an amazing person in my life to lift me up and be my rock. I'm not sure she knows how much she really means to me, but she truly means the world to me and I'd honestly be lost without her.

Nug, when you said that you were my double rainbow, I want you to know that I'm yours too. I may not always be clearly there, but know I have your back and am always supporting you. You can come to me with anything and I will help you. I will be forever by your side.

I love you, Nug.

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

We've all been there. From move-in day to the first finals week in college, your first term is an adventure from start to finish. In honor of college decisions coming out recently, I want to recap some of the most common experiences college freshmen experience.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!
