My Dog Is My Best Friend.

Calling pet owners everywhere! This one's for you.

My Dog Is My Best Friend.

My dog is more than just an animal, she is my best friend.

Do you have an animal in your life that just so happens to be your best friend? Mine is my dog, Shelby. My family doesn’t even consider her an animal because she is practically a human.

Dogs have this way with your emotions whether that’s putting a smile on your face or filling your eyes with tears. They are like the ultimate boyfriend because they can make or break your heart within seconds. When you pick a puppy out when you’re 8 years old, you want the puppy to stay little and cute forever. Am I right? You think, “wow I can dress him/her up in my dress up clothes, put him/her in my purse. This is the best!” But most dogs grow up in the blink of an eye. It’s actually quite crazy.

A dog lives in a 7-year span per 1 human year or that’s the myth that we all tend to believe. So when you are celebrating your 16th birthday, your pup is no longer a pup and is acting like a grandpa or grandma.

A dog can sense when you're feeling sad and they will instantly comfort you. They are always down to eat junk food and watch movies all day with you.

When I think of a dog I instantly start of with a lab, golden retriever, then onto the German shepherd. But Labrador’s are #1 in American and #1 in our hearts. If you have a lab, you know exactly what I’m talking about.

An article from Time says:

"Gentle, friendly and family-oriented, the Labrador retriever has been America’s most popular dog breed for 21 consecutive years, and it’s easy to see why. This versatile pup comes in three-color variations, is active, trustworthy and (of course) adorable. Originally bred to work along fishermen, Labs are true “retrievers,” accompanying hunters to retrieve game or just fetching the newspaper. Labs are also trainable and possess a calm temperament, which is why millions of Americans make this breed a part of their families."

Choose a lab if:

  • You want someone to listen to you, even if they don’t want to.
  • You want a cuddle buddy that LOVES naps….And sleeping in your bed.
  • You want puppy dog eyes saying “pretty please”.
  • You want someone to greet you every time you come home from school.
  • You want them to bark at anybody that walks by your door, while wagging their tail the whole time.
  • You want them to hug you with their paws on your shoulder.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve left the house and it has taken me 30 minutes because I don’t want to leave my pup at home alone. A dog is truly the best friend a person could have. Who else will take selfies with you and not care how they look?

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
