My Forever Friends

Once you go away to college, there's the possibility that your high school friendships will end. I had this fear when I went away to school two years ago. My high school best friends have been a huge part of my life and I was terrified that the distance between us was going to end our friendships.

I have been very, very fortunate that they are all still my best friends. Throughout the twists and turns of life, we have been by each others sides no matter what. They've given me advice, listened to me rant, and have been truthful when I've needed to hear it the most. We've laughed together, cried together, and have done some pretty stupid things together. The memories we've made are some that I will never ever forget.

I'm lucky to have these girls as my best friends. We are all so very different, but exactly the same. We all balance each other out very well. There's the sassy, smart and beautiful one. Next there's the sweet, caring and inspiring one. There's the gorgeous, strong willed and hilarious one. Then there's the loud, funny and witty one. There's also the smart, silly and reserved one. Then finally there's me: the quiet, caring and funny one.

It doesn't matter if we are away at school or hanging out until the early hours in the morning, every moment together or apart is so great. We laugh until we cry, tell insane stories and have deep conversations. They're the ones I text when I need to tell a story, need to tell my secrets, and need a helpful hand. Without them, I wouldn't be the person I am today.

It's a pretty awesome feeling knowing you have forever friends. I know that these girls will be my best friends forever. I can't imagine a life without them and I'd never want to. They've made such a huge impact on me and I wouldn't be the person that I am today if I didn't have their guidance, support and love.

So to my girls, my favorites, my additional sisters and my future bridesmaids, thank you for all that you do for me. I appreciate everything you have done and continue to do for me and our friendship. I can't wait to face life together for the rest of our lives. Here's to the many more laughs, the stories and the memories.

Love you ladies, forever and ever.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
