Sometimes life can be crazy. The universe can put people in your life without even having the capability to ask for them. This is exactly what happened to me. I was blessed with a best friend the second I was born. We call each other womb mates even though it is physically impossible for that to be correct, we still say it anyway. My cousin is and will always be my first friend. Only being a month apart, you can pretty much call us inseparable. We were a duo to be reckoned with.

This girl has stuck by my side since ’98. Almost 20 years that wouldn’t be the same without the crazy person I am so lucky to call my best friend.

Not everyone is as lucky as us. The relationship we have as cousins is something that not everyone gets the chance to have. We have something that I know will last a lifetime.

We have had the craziest life together. Letting our imaginations run wild in the safety of your basement. We used to fight over the stupidest things, but hey, we haven’t had a fight since the summer of 2014, go us! I remember the late nights singing and dancing to Sean Kingston on repeat and waking up at 7 in the morning to color. We were pretty weird kids. Going to Take 5 in the morning before it opened and playing hide n seek throughout the restaurant. No, that is not the weird part. The weird part was that out favorite hiding spot was the boy’s bathroom because we wanted to see what it looked like on the inside.

As we got older, we most defiantly have matured… a little bit. I love the support we give each other for our sporting events and telling each other things we wouldn’t tell anyone else. We love talking good family gossip and reminiscing on fun childhood memories. We did do some childish things even as teenagers. Especially the two summers we spent money on giant inflatable pool toys.

Thank you for always going on crazy last-minute adventures with me. Knowing the exact moment when I need a good laugh. Giving the best hugs a hug lover could ask for. I will always and forever be your “hype man” even after your 20th marathon. Moving away from you was my hardest goodbye. The future is a crazy thing, but I know mine will be even crazier with you in it.

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
