This week my co-worker and a dear friend approached me with an upset expression on her face. She began to tell me an extreme, twisted tale about her ex-boyfriend, who is an "on-and-off" again reoccurrence in her life. She told me that she always saw a future with him, but he never matured enough over a year and a half of dating. To be honest, I'm not sure if he will anytime soon.
If you're interested in a juicy, horrific, yet entertaining story, you should continue on; however, if you're looking for a love story you will not find it here. For privacy reasons I'm going to change all the names as I continue to tell you this sordid tale.
Kerri (my friend) came up to me early in the week, obviously distressed, and tells me she recently found out her on-and-off again boyfriend Kevin was seeing a new woman. She attempted to act happy for them but little did she know that his new relationship had been four months long, and they were still dating about three months ago.
So obviously I had questions. She continues to tell me that Kevin's best friend, Amy, contacted her and asked how Kevin and Kerri's relationship was going. Amy said that she had seen Kerri recently, but knew he was seeing someone new and was okay with it. Amy then continued to tell Kerri something along the lines of "yes, he is seeing someone new and he's extremely happy." Amy also mentioned that the girl Kevin is now dating is a friend of her's and she introduced Kevin to her over the summer.
Obviously, Kerri was devastated and admitted that she had just spent the past five days over the New Year with Kevin. Amy was shocked, considering Kevin had failed to text her friend over the holiday. Amy and her friend both thought that was odd, but an acceptable explanation to the lack of communication between Kevin and her friend.
Amy then proceeded to tell her friend that Kevin was cheating on her with his ex, Kerri. Kevin's new girlfriend and Amy's friend decided that she couldn't blame Kerri, but refused to reveal her identity. Therefore, Amy would continue to be the moderator for both her friend and Kerri. Kerri felt an odd comfort with telling details to Amy about her private relationship and Amy related what Kerri was saying to experiences her friend was telling her.
Amy said that Kevin told both Kerri and her friend that he loved them and wanted to build on his relationship with them. Amy offered to have Kerri, Kevin, and her friend come over and discuss what happened. However, Kerri decided that would be messy and end badly.
Kerri decided the path of revenge and we made a concrete plan.
Kerri chose to meet with Kevin that night and discuss everything about him and this mystery girl. (Here I am debating on calling Jerry Springer or The Bachelor because I knew some serious sh*t was about to go down). I had to wait a whole 24 hours before finding out what happened when Kerri met with Kevin.
She comes in to work the next day and says, "I know who the girl is" and I'm like, "oh my, who?" And guess who she says.
I mean you'll never guess.
This bitch says AMY.
I'm like, "no, way."
Not only is Amy married, but she also has children.
Now Kerri is telling me that Kevin thinks he's "in love" with Amy. Amy, who is married and has a family. How could you be in love with someone who so easily cheated on her husband? I decide to give her the benefit of the doubt. Maybe this girl has a tough home life and her husband is abusive.
False, her husband takes care of her and the kids and makes sure she doesn't have to work a day in her life. He treats her like an absolute princess.
Kerri tells me that she didn't expect this level of betrayal. Kevin cheated on her with Amy and then cheated on Amy with her, all while Amy is married! Can you believe that?
As for Kerri, we know she deserves better, but her dilemma now is whether to tell Amy's husband or not. I hope that Kerri decides what she thinks is best and doesn't make a rash decision. I know it would be extremely difficult for me to be peaceful in that situation. I guess the moral of the story is to trust no one.
