11 Confessions Of A Shopaholic

The shopping addiction is real!

It all began when someone told me to stop doing so much for other people and spending all my money on everyone else. They said I need to be able to treat myself to what I want and that's okay. And that it when the addiction began.

It is hard to just walk into a clothing store and not purchase something you see that you really want and really like. And this is me on a daily basis. I can't help but purchase something I see and I like. I have an infinite number of shoes, jackets, dresses, tops, jeans, and every other article of clothing you can think of. I have clothes everywhere. In the closet, drawers, bed, bins, other people's closet, and I'm pretty sure my boyfriend's house as well.

I was never the girl who cared about what she wore or how she looked. But I guess as you get older that changes. You start to care about what other people think and how you looks and who's looking at you. I no longer care what other people think but I do like to look good, I mean, come on who doesn't! I wish I could say that it is easy to just stop shopping and buying what I like, but it is not at all. Sometimes I get scared I am going to spend my whole entire paycheck in one store.

But here are some confessions I must make as a shopaholic:

1. It is hard to control how much I spend and what I spend it on.

2. I constantly online shop and look for the best sales.

3. Shoes are just an addiction I will never get rid of and the collection will just keep on growing.

4. I will never leave the house for a night out wearing anything less than a dress and heels.

5. I can't not go into a store and not buy something.

6. My closet is always so full and I still can never find anything to wear, so what do I do? Go shopping of course.

7. Some store owners know me so well that they know my style and pick out my outfits when I walk into the store.

8. I max out my credit card once it is paid off. Just a word of advice, don't do it you'll regret it.

9. My clothes will never define me because I am always switching up styles.

10. I love to bargain shop but if I want something and its a bit pricey I will buy it anyway.

11. I will never walk out of a store with less than 2 bags.

I don't think I will ever be able to stop shopping, but when I do have to start saving money I will have to limit myself somehow.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
