My Acrylic Nails Are Cute, Y'all Are Just Jealous

Acrylic nails are so much fun, you have no ideas until you get them. I feel so confident and amazing with these nails, I never want to take them off. I know they look good, so your comment on how "extra" they look is not needed. For one, it took my nail tech an hour and a half to perfect these beauties so show her some respect. Two, I look good with them on, you cannot deny that. And three, do I know you? No? Okay then why did you comment on my nails?

Don't get me wrong, compliments are wonderful and I am grateful for those people who tell me how much they love them. But when you decide to say something mean and unnecessary, it makes you look like an ass.

You know you love them but since I have them and you don't, you just have to say something. No they are not extra, no they did not cost me a fortune, and I promise you paid more for your haircut than I paid for my nails including tip. My nails are super cute, you seriously just jealous.

It is completely okay to ask me questions, but don't do it in a way that makes me uncomfortable. Don't ask me how much my partner likes them, don't ask my how I go to the bathroom with them, and especially don't ask me how I get work done on my laptop. Sweetie you are watching me type right now. How do you think I get work done?

So, yes, my nails are cute and I love them. I feel and look good, can you say the same? So next time you had wanted to comment on my nails, make sure you don't insult me because I absolutely will ignore you. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
