There are about a million reasons why I'm incredibly excited for Fall this year. To name a few: warm sweaters, hot apple cider, orange, red and yellow leaves, and stuffing myself with Thanksgiving turkey. But, there's nothing about Fall that gets me more thrilled than pairing my cozy, cream-colored cable knit sweater with a super relaxed, cascading braid. So, here are 7 different hairstyles that will make you feel confident and in style for the Fall season!

(Click on the images to be taken to tutorials)

1. The Half Up French Twist

The half up french twist is both sophisticated, fun, and great for any hair length, texture or thickness! Use this style when you want to pull the hair away from your face to either: show off those great new earrings that you bought last week, or when you're spending your entire day with your face pressed into a textbook (snore). Pair with an oxford shirt, dark wash jeans, boots, and bold accessories.

2. The Messy Braided Updo

This style is for when you have a little bit of extra time in the morning, but want to make your look seem more effortless. This braided updo can be used for both casual and dressy styles; however I personally prefer to pair it with a great pair of distressed jeans, a black and white striped shirt, my favorite army green jacket, and white chucks.

3. The Pull Through Braid

This is a good one if you have thicker hair! I know from personal experience that my thick hair HATES when I try to force it into tiny, intricate braids - so this is one of my go to's for when I don't feel like fighting with my mane. This style is great for a long day of classes, or a dinner date with your girls. I prefer to wear this style with a nice cozy flannel, light wash jeans, and my cream colored Keds. (Make sure to pull down some hair pieces in the front to frame your beautiful face!)

4. The "Pumped Up" Pony

The pumped up pony is the best for those times when you hit snooze a

few (okay...seven) too many times. It's super quick and easy and looks absolutely adorable! When I have extra time I love to add some soft curls to my pony after I've put it up. For this look, I love to wear my favorite black leggings with an oversized sweater and my cognac colored riding boots. Pair this with a standout ring and you'll be ready for whatever the day has planned for you!

5. The Waterfall

The waterfall braid is one that you'll definitely receive tons of compliments on! It pairs the elaborate look of a braid with the relaxed and flirtatious aspect of having your hair flowing freely in the cool breeze that accompanies the Fall season. There are a lot of ways to play with this style to make it work for you and your hair type; the braid can be relaxed or snug and you can let your hair "do its thang", or style it (curly or straight!) to give it a more professional/chic appearance! My favorite outfit to pair with this hairstyle is a t-shirt dress with a denim jacket, boots, and gold hoop earrings!

6. The Frenchy

The french braid is an all time favorite that I've been using since I was in grade school. I love the simplicity and practicality of this incredibly charming plait. Go a little messy with it, or keep it neat and clean - either way you're guaranteed to turn some heads. I love to rock this style with a collegiate long sleeve t-shirt, jeans and cute sneakers, OR with a neutral colored top, oversized cardigan, skinny jeans, ballet flats, and a statement necklace.

No matter where your days take you, these 6 hairstyles are guaranteed to get you through it all! Family holiday gatherings, 8 a.m Chemistry, date night, you name it! Happy Styling!

XOXO - Meg

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. Ever heard of “pain is temporary, but GPA is forever?” Pre-meds don’t just embody that motto; we live and breathe it. Here are 10 symptoms you’re down with the pre-med student syndrome.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.

One Book Made Me Question Existence In Its Entirety

"The Stranger" by Albert Campus touches upon many heavy elements... but not in the way you expect. Although it touches upon the aspects of death and love, it also deals with a hidden philosophy similar to that of nihilism.

The story follows the short life events of Meursault, a Frenchman whose carelessness for his actions eventually ends him in jail and dependent on a jury of people to judge the ethicality of his decision and the punishment that he deserves. He eventually gets the death penalty and all throughout he is nonchalant and almost apathetic towards his situation. He finally snaps when the prison sends a priest to him to absolve him of his sins and to cajole him in confessing to the lord.
