My 12 Favorite Memories of Summer

My Best Moments of Summer 2016

My 12 Favorite Memories of Summer

Since summer is coming to an end, I thought I’d share some of my favorite memories from the awesome summer I had.

1. Meeting Giuliana Rancic

This was something I thought would never happen, but it did and I'll forever remember it. It wasn't anything major...I maybe got a minute or two with her, but I got the chance to meet my idol and tell her she was my idol and that made it major.

2. Meeting Dylan Lloyd

This was a great night filled with laughs and stories and talking about music. In case you don't know him, Dylan Lloyd is a singer/songwriter. He's one of those musicians who's known, but not known and should be known. His music is great and he's a pretty decent person too!

3. Visiting my family in Louisiana

This was a great trip. I had a blast living the country life (but I'm a city girl, let's not get confused). Plus, I'm one of those people who absolutely adores my Grandma and I love hearing her stories and laughing with her. I also got to see my distant family members and that's always a good time because if you've ever met ANYONE in my family, you'd know we're anything but boring.

4. Graduation Party

This was one of the best days of my summer. I got to see all my family and friends that I haven't seen in a while. It was the first event after graduation that I saw everyone and it was nice making fun of each other and just being around people who I feel comfortable with. One of my old high school friends showed up too and I haven't seen her in four years so that was a REALLY nice surprise!

5. Seeing my college friends

This was a great night! Those three girls in the picture above are the greatest friends ever and even though I only got to see them for a few hours, it was absolutely amazing!

6. Cupcake ATM

If you know me personally, you know my love for cupcakes. After hearing of Cupcake ATM's, I was on a mission to find one in Chicago and one random day I was walking around and guess what? I found a Cupcake ATM!! My heart and stomach were full of joy!

7. Spending time with my sister

One great thing about graduating and moving back home is that I got to spend some quality time with my little sister. She makes me smile, most of the time, and her laugh will make me laugh any time of any day. She's a goof ball and a little annoying, but I love her and I wouldn't want her any other way.

8. My Birthday

The picture isn't from my birthday because I couldn't find one from that day, but I spent my birthday with these two goofs and my parents and it was a nice simple birthday because turning 22 isn't anything special (unless you ask my sister), but it was still a really awesome birthday.

9. Every single girl’s night/day

Food, laughs, and getting dressed up make any and all girls days and/or nights pretty amazing.

10. Visiting the Chicago Botanic Garden

If you haven't been and are into nature then this is the place to go. It's beautiful all around and it's pretty big. I don't even think we saw it all when we went.

11. Visiting Petit Jean State Park

This was another beautiful place to visit. There's this crazy legend about the park and there's parts of a building left from what used to be a school and even a grave on top of the mountain. As you can see, the view was great too so that helps!

12. Random visits from my cousin

We actually don't have any photos from our random visits, but I absolutely love getting a text or call from this girl saying she's near by and asking if I'm home. Normally we just sit and be lazy together, but I enjoy the company quite a bit. She's alright I guess!

So there's a little bit of insight into my summer and some of the amazing things I got to experience. Time to make some fall memories!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
