As most people that know me know, I am a very avid watcher of Netflix. Whether it be TV shows, movies, or - my favorite - horror movies, you can pretty much find me watching Netflix in my spare time. I find watching shows relaxing, and because of my anxiety, I love to slip into worlds that aren't mine. So, I figured I'd start a series of my own here on The Odyssey Online. This week, my article is about my favorite TV shows. Next week will be my favorite movies, and the week after that will be my favorite horror movies. I might continue this into my favorite Disney movies (etc.), but for now, here are my 10 all-time favorite TV shows (that you can find on Netflix, if you wish to also watch them).

1. "American Horror Story"

This show is not one for the faint of heart. It includes many adult themes, and I find it still giving me the creeps even as an 18-year-old. If you have a weak stomach or are easily freaked out, this isn't the show for you. However, if you're a freak like me and love scaring the crap out of yourself, WATCH THIS SHOW! Also, watch it because of Evan Peters. I love Evan Peters.

2. "Supernatural"

Surprise surprise. Anyone that knows me knows this show is my heart and soul. If this show ever gets canceled it will be the death of me. This show follows two brothers, Sam and Dean, on their quest to fight quite literally all kinds of evil. I highly recommend this one. (P.S. You'll have to push through Season 7. Season 7 sucks.)

3. "Grey's Anatomy"

Holy drama Batman. This is one of the most dramatic shows I have ever seen in my life and I love it to no end. If you like high-intensity medical shows, this is one for you. (P.S. Make sure to have a box of tissues next to you at all times.)

4. "Private Practice"

This show is a spin-off of "Grey's Anatomy," focused on the character Addison Forbes-Montgomery. Once again, an amazing high-intensity medical show. (P.S. You'll need tissues for this one as well.)

5. "Criminal Minds"

This show has been one of my favorites for a long, long time. I'm talking middle school, people. This show helped me solidify that I want to do something to help other people with my life. This show...I can't even find the words.

6. "Bones"

Another amazing crime show, this starring Temperance Brennan (Bones) and her FBI partner Seeley Booth. This show is incredibly suspenseful and I highly recommend it to any crime-show-lover.

7. "Sherlock"

This show follows famous crime-fighters Sherlock Holmes and John Watson in modern-day England. Once again, a very very suspenseful show. The acting in this show is amazing, and so are the plot twists. It's also good for a chuckle when you need one.

8. "Stranger Things"

"Stranger Things" is a supernatural themed show about three kids looking for their missing friend that I was introduced to by my roommate, Cassie. It's a Netflix original, and all I can say is that I'm anxiously awaiting Season 2.

9. "The Walking Dead"

"The Walking Dead," as most of you know, is a show set in the zombie apocalypse, and I can do nothing but sing the highest praises to this show. If you haven't yet gotten the chance, I highly suggest you sit down and binge-watch it (with tissues of course).

10. "Pretty Little Liars"

My final favorite show is "Pretty Little Liars," which many people can't stand, but I find to be fascinating, mostly because I'm always trying to find out what happens next. If you like suspense, you'll love this show.

That's all I have for this week, but I'm super excited to share my favorite movies next week! Seriously, check out these shows, they're amazing.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
