Top 5 reasons why you'll want to visit this Spanish city

If you are fond of social media, you are probably familiar or at least you've seen the term "Wanderlust" once or twice, a widely spread notion or desire to travel and "wander" the world. Well, if you are that type of person that can and will travel soon, here are my TOP 5 reasons of why you should (or even MUST) visit my city, Barcelona, at least once in your lifetime.

1. BEST OF BOTH WORLDS

Barcelona's geographical situation blessed its inhabitants with the best of its beaches and the adventurous side that the mountains bring to the city. You can pick and choose, you will be able to have days in the city, days at the beach or you'll be able to breathe "fresher" air at the top of nearby mountains.

2. FOODIES UNITE

One of the best things hands down is the food. After living for three and a half years in the United States, I can assure you the local gastronomy is the thing that I miss the most. Succulent dishes for all ages, even if you are picky I think you won't be able to resist the sight of paella, or jamon serrano or other typical Spanish dishes. You will be amazed at the quality of the ingredients that we use in our recipes, promise!

3. TAILORED TO YOUR NEEDS

Because it is a big city, we have all that you look for and/or need. Barcelona will satisfy all types of travelers; those that come looking for adventure as well as those that just need some time out, the crazed sports fans and the ones looking for architectural wonders, the party goers, and the early birds. The city breathes life at any time of the day and you will feel at home even if you aren't; if you need help, we definitely are friendly people that will be willing to help you along the way.

4. SUNNY WITH A CHANCE OF FUN

Worried that your time or planned activities will be ruined because of the weather? Forget about it, Barcelona has amazing weather all year, with an average high of 70°F and an average low of 58°F!(historical data from the past years). Leave behind those crazy weather days and travel where you won't have to worry about carrying extra clothing items along the day. Our mostly sunny days will definitely lift your spirits up!

5. YOU'LL LEAVE WANTING TO COME BACK

I have been able to see and meet people that came just as visitors that left with the sensation that they will have to come back at one point in their lives. Let Barcelona be your foreign home and let its citizens become your temporary family. The lively Spanish culture never fails to make people feel welcomed and to make experiences better for those that are broadening their horizons. We won't go anywhere but we sure hope that you do come back. Until then, "Hasta pronto!"

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
