Top 5 Must-Sees For Your First Irish Vacation

After spending my summer abroad in Ireland, I can honestly say it is one of the most beautiful countries I've ever visited. However, even after being there for six whole weeks, I still struggled to see all of the beautiful, classic Irish sights. But my experience did show me which are the most majestic and most awe-striking, and if you're about to embark on your first Irish vacation, I suggest adding these to the top of your bucket-lists!

1. Cliffs of Moher

Jessica Schmidt

So, this is definitely one of the most common tourist spots. Located out on the west coast of Ireland, near the town of Galway (cue "Galway Girl" by Ed Sheeran), these beautiful cliffs are truly a natural wonder of the world. The entire scene is like a painted picture, and the sounds of the roaring waves and wisping winds transport you into a real-life movie.

2. Wicklow Mountains

Jessica Schmidt

For me, to say the Wicklow Mountains is a pretty broad suggestion because there are a lot of different things to explore within the emerald hillsides of this range. From an ancient monastic city to Guinness Lake, you can never get bored! Just make sure you have your best hiking boots laced-up and ready to go (and an experienced tour guide, too)!

3. Trinity College

Jessica Schmidt

This is another tourist hot-spot, but, located in the heart of Dublin, Trinity College's massive library is like a scene straight out of "Harry Potter." The old, towering shelves of books, spiral staircases, and library ladders create a scene so aesthetic that most people just sit down and gaze in wonder. Insider tip: the people working there typically know A LOT of fun facts about the library (and believe me, there's a lot to know, too!), so don't be afraid to ask any questions that come to mind! When in Ireland, you will undoubtedly learn something new every day!

4. Blarney Castle

Jessica Schmidt

Yes, there are a lot of castles in Ireland. No, none of them quite match up to the magic and intrigue of Blarney. Between the authenticity of climbing the ancient, crumbling stairs through the castle to reaching the very top and looking out at the Irish countryside while you wait to kiss the famous Blarney Stone, no other castle experience even pales in comparison. Plus, you'll probably get the chance to explore the beautiful city of Cork before or after you land the kiss of a lifetime!

5. Powerscourt Estate and Waterfall

Jessica Schmidt

This is probably not a suggestion you typically hear, but it is a suggestion I highly recommend! The Estate is absolutely mesmerizing, with miles and miles of hiking trails. There are pet cemeteries to ponder through, gardens to trek across, and old bell towers to explore - all while still being on estate property! It truly is an adventure, especially when you drive on over to the Powerscourt Waterfall, which is another natural wonder of Ireland that showcases its Emerald Isle beauty

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
