The holiday season is seriously the greatest time of the year, and for good reasons. The weather gets colder, there is more time to be spent with your family, presents are given, and hot new films hit the theaters. All these reasons are splendid, marvelous even, but let's focus in on these highly anticipated films for just a few seconds.
Is it just me, or are movies just all around better during the months of November and December? Maybe it's because it gives us something to do on cold afternoons, or maybe its because our winter sweaters allow us to eat a large, extra buttery popcorn without feeling awful about ourselves. Whatever the reason may be, its undeniable that the movies released during the holiday season are always must sees. In an attempt to assist you before you embark on your journey to a hometown cinema, I have taken the liberty of compiling a list of some of the sure to be amazing movies coming out this holiday season. "Krampus."
December 4. Krampus is about a beastly monster that comes out during Christmastime and targets kids who have been naughty. When Max Engel loses his Christmas spirit after a family argument, Krampus sets his sights on the Engel home. The family then must stick together in order to protect themselves and fight off the evil demon.
"In The Heart Of The Sea."
December 11. Based on an incredible story of the horrific experiences crewman on the New England vessel Essex faced after their ship was crushed by an enormous whale. The film captures the life of the men after they are forced off their ship and into the middle of the ocean.
" Star Wars: The Force Awakens."
December 18. A continuation of the saga created by George Lucas, following the sixth Star Wars film, "Return of the Jedi." The storyline of the movie is set 30 years after the Galactic Empire was defeated in "Return of The Jedi." The film will be focused on the battle between Han Solo, along with his allies and his new threat from Kylo Ren and his army of stormtroopers.
" Sisters."
December 18. Two sisters, Maura and Kate, learn that their parents are selling their childhood home and decide that they need to throw one last party in the house to say goodbye. The bash is meant for the duo to relive their glory days with their former classmates, but trouble arrises when the party gets too out of control.
"Alvin and The Chipmunks: The Road Chip."
December 18. When Alvin, Simon, and Theodore hear that dave is going to propose to his girlfriend, they get frightened that they might loose Dave and embark on an epic three day journey to stop him.
"Christmas Eve."
December 24. Six different groups of people get to know each other on a whole different level when a power outage in New York City leaves them trapped in an elevator. This film combines romance, comedy, and some holiday spirit to show that you never know who you might get stuck with.
"The Revenant."
December 25. Based on true events of well-known frontiersman, Hugh Glass. The film depicts Glass (played by Leonardo DiCaprio) exploring the unknown parts of the wilderness in the 1800s, when he is severely attacked by a bear and left to die by his team. He uses all his strength and everything he knows about survival in an attempt to make it thought the harsh terrain and back to his family.
