After binge watching all of your favorite TV shows on Netflix, you soon run out of things to watch. You have either watched every episode of the new "Orange is the New Black" season, or no other show has really caught your attention. So, you turn to a new form of entertainment: reading.
When you read the title of this article, you're probably thinking, "Summer reading? Are we back in high school? Where's the assignment to go along with the book?" No assignments here. This is for pure enjoyment!
So far this summer I have read three great books! "Dirty Rush" by Taylor Bell, "Gone Girl" by Gillian Flynn, and "The Girl on the Train" by Paula Hawkins.
"Dirty Rush" is a comedic book about a girl going through the recruitment process at her school, who finds that there are secrets some of her sisters are not sharing. If you like all things sorority, this is definitely a book for you! It's funny, sometimes true, and mysterious at times. I read this book in a day, so it is a easy read and can be enjoyed by the pool, on the beach, or at night before you go to bed!
"Gone Girl" is, so far, my favorite book that I have read this summer. I have always enjoyed reading mysteries, especially ones that include murder, romance, and suspense. This story will take you on a roller coaster with all of the plot twists it entails. I am the type who has to read the book before the movie, so be sure to engage in the story before mindlessly watching it.
"The Girl on the Train" is a thriller in which unfolds the different character's stories which are all intertwined. The story line is interesting, but it does take time for the story to develop. However, you still want to keep reading to see what happens in the end! "The Girl on the Train" is a fairly easy read and is also different from any other books I have read.
So, grab a book and get reading, because Reading Is FUNdamental.
