College move-in day for incoming freshman can be scary and overwhelming, so here are some must-haves that are essential!
1. A fan.

I know not everyone will have no AC their freshman year like I did (yes, it sucked), but having a fan can be so nice, especially if you like to be cold when you sleep.
2. A comfy mattress topper.

Dorm beds are not comfortable at all! Having a good mattress topper is crucial for getting that good night sleep.
3. Storage containers.

There really is not enough storage provided for you, so you should definitely get some storage bins. I had one just for snacks!
4. Extension Cords

There are not nearly enough outlets for all the things you'll need, so extension cords and power trips are pretty important.
5. A vacuum.

My floor would always get so dusty! Having a vacuum was so nice to clean that up... and maybe the leftover crumbs from that late-night snack you had the night before.
6. Pictures.

Pictures are so cheap to get printed out and they'll help you maybe feel a little less homesick (especially in those first few weeks).
7. A planner.

Having my planner literally saved my life! Every week I'd write out all the assignments/quizzes/exams I had for that week and would check them off as I did.
8. Umbrella and rain boots.

I didn't have any sort of boot my freshman year and I seriously regret it. Having to walk to class in the snow with just sneakers was horrible and my feet always ended up being soaked.
