Must-Have Summer Makeup

I constantly get a lot of questions regarding my favorite makeup. I am someone who constantly is changing up my routine and always want to make sure my makeup is looking fresh and clean. My entire makeup routine has completely shifted in three months time and I'm a huge believer of that's how it should be. I've been laying off the harsh contour and have been focusing on creating a much softer effect for my makeup that compliments my pale skin. This is what I have been loving these past weeks...

1. Maybelline's Better Skin Foundation in Shade 10.

I love it with my beauty blender because it really hides my pores and unwanted texture on my face. My skin is probably at the best it's ever been and so this foundation is super build-able. I usually will only build it to a medium coverage but it really minimizes the appearance of pores and acne scarring.

2. Nars Creamy Concealer in Vanilla Custard.

I like this concealer because it's creamy and not incredibly liquidy. It's extremely easy to blend and I feel like most concealer will crease underneath my eyelids because my eyelids tend to be very oily. This concealer is great at matching my skin and sets beautifully after baking with a white translucent powder.

3. Wet and Wild's Photo Flash Finish Foundation Powder

This powder is great for my fair skin because I don't feel so self-conscious when taking a photo with the flash on. I have extremely fair skin and usually, makeup will leave me with a white cast. This powder leaves no white cast and provides great coverage. The powder is finely milled that it applies to flawlessly to the skin.

4. Fiona Stiles Light Illusion Prism Palette

I like the lightest shade in this palette because it applies so great to the skin. The glitter is very fine so it doesn't look chunky or overly glittery highlights. This gives such a great glow to the skin and I get so many compliments using this palette.

5. Too Faced Love Flush Blush in I Will Always Love You

This blush provides a super pretty peachy glow to the skin. The blush is very pigmented and stays on the skin all day. It's a must have in my book.

6. Too Faced Chocolate Solei Bronzer

This is my tried and true bronzer. This is my first and last love. This is the best bronzer I've used for my super fair skin and it doesn't appear orange on my face. I love it because of the smoothness of the powder but also because of the scent.

I hope you all give these products a chance and end up loving them as much as I do!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
