Must Do's Before Heading Back To School

Time is almost up!

Must Do's Before Heading Back To School

Well, it's almost the end of summer. Which means it's time to head back to school. Time to go school shopping all over again, whether it's for new furniture before moving into your first house or just the basic stuff for a dorm room. No matter what, it's stressful. Making sure you're prepared before going back to school is basically an impossible task. You're always gonna forget to bring something or forget to do something.

1. SCHEDULE YOUR APPOINTMENTS.

Whether it's a doctor appointment for an annual physical, or a dentist appointment just for a cleaning, or if it's something more serious like you need some sort of vaccination or a tooth filled... get on it. Because it's almost time to head back to school and who knows what's gonna happen there. Always important to make sure you're going back as healthy as possible, because we all know that won't last for long.

2. Schedule your less important appointments.

Gotta make sure you get your hair dyed, cut and styled to perfection before going back. Because chances are, you won't have the money or time to do so while back. Other "necessary" appointments may be a mani/pedi, eyebrow wax or my favorite... a relaxing massage.

3. Work as much as possible.

You're never going to regret picking up some shifts or babysitting your neighbors for that extra cash. Because when it comes time for school, cash will probably be the only thing on your mind. So do your best to work and save as much as possible. It's crunch time, folks!

4. Make some time for your friends!

Instead of maybe hanging out with your roommates who you're going to be spending every day with, try finding some time for your friends back at home. You know you'll miss them like crazy when you're back at school, and sometimes staying in touch gets tricky! Especially if you're doing a long distance relationship, make him/her a main priority! You'll never regret making as much time as possible for them before leaving (of course, work comes first).

5. More importantly, make time for your family!

They've been through it all with you. Throughout the college search, college preparation... everything. They're your biggest supporters so give them some respect and make time for them! Eat dinner together, see a movie or just hang out and watch some TV. They'll be happy and you'll be happy, I guarantee it.

6. Spend some quality time with your pet.

Whether you have a dog or cat or whatever, you know you'll miss them like crazy when you're back at school. If you're anything like me and see a dog on campus, you go crazy and just want to play with them and end up missing your own pet back at home like crazy. So take advantage of your time at home with them! Bring your dog for a walk, and do... whatever you do with your cat!

7. Indulge in your favorite restaurants at home!

You know you've got your favorite pick that's at home and only at home, go out with some friends or family and get your favorite meal! You won't regret this one, that's a promise.

8. Make sure all your shopping is done.

From furniture shopping, to clothes shopping, to just flat out shopping, get it done. You'll be so happy you spent a day or two strictly on figuring out everything you need for school and buying it. Coming in prepared is always a good idea. Another tip is to make yourself a few lists of everything you need before setting forth on your shopping trips; this is a way to make sure you don't forget anything!

And last but not least,

Cherish your time at home. I know you're excited and more than ready to go back to school and see all your friends again, but never take for granted the time you have at home. It's only seconds before you'll be back in your room cramming for your big philosophy test the next day. So come in prepared, and good luck!

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.
