When you pray in a public place,
I am watching you.
After 9/11,
I am watching you.
When people look down on you,
I am watching you.
When you're publicly harassed,
I am watching you.
When your safety is compromised,
I am watching you.
Muslim girls
I am watching you,
because I am afraid that no one else will.
I will be here when you need me and even when you don't.
I am watching because you are valid.
You are important and your lives matter.
No one should have to be subjected to the degree of discrimination and violence that Muslim women face.
And if I have anything to do with it, no one will.
