Music, what a wonderful creation. Such a powerful thing. It has the power to heal, to mess with your emotions and even the way you think. As humans we have preferences and good thing there are multiple different genres to choose from! I, personally, love oldies. Like 50's, 60's, 70's music. There's something to these songs that just make you feel happier, fancier, and put you in certain ~v i b e s ~. Here is my top 10 recommended playlist if you want to give it a try!!
1. Moon River- Audrey Hepburn
Arguably my favorite song in the entire world, sung by my favorite person in the entire world. Originally composed for the movie " Breakfast At Tiffany's" ( surprise, surprise also my ultimate favorite movie); it's hard to tell which is more beautiful, the song or Audrey Hepburn! Also if you for some reason cannot stand this, try listening to Frank Ocean's version he just came out with!
2. Can't Help Falling In Love- Elvis Presley
This, I already know, will be my wedding song. Sorry future husband, you get no say in this. Elvis Presley beautifully sings this rhythmic, super romantic, and slow song really just makes you want to grab a glass of wine and slow dance wherever you are. This song gives you a hope in true love!
3. Can't Take My Eyes Off You- Frankie Valli
This song, similar to number 2, is extremely romantic. But this one is slightly more upbeat and seems like a confession song that would be played in public or in front of people. If you like covers (and Heath Ledger) this is the song he sang in "10 Things I Like About You"!
4. Fly Me To The Moon- Frank Sinatra
This is the first song that led me to this kind of music. My mom absolutely adores this song and played it whenever she got the chance, so I had no choice but to listen. If I could resurrect any male in history I would probably bring Frank Sinatra to life and have him sing this song to me live. This song just puts you in a certain feeling and makes you feel like you're the main character of a movie.
5. Put Your Head On My Shoulder- Paul Anka; Joe Sherman
This song definitely leans towards the jazz genre, but equally beautiful. This song has gone viral a couple of times the past couple of years on Twitter, so there's a good chance you have probably heard of it but it pushes you to try and listen to jazz!
6. Sleepwalk- Santo & Johnny
This song is the only song in this list without lyrics, but that does not mean its any less of a song. This song also went viral a couple of times for being such a "vibe-y" song and is so romantic even without lyrics. Whenever I listen to this song, it makes me wish I was living in the 50's and experience the fangirling this song received.
7. Love Me Tender- Elvis Presley
Another song by the king of rock and roll because obviously, he's that amazing. He is much more romantic in these songs than his usual. For some reason, Mr. Presley has a unique voice that makes you feel like your in love (even when your not).
8. Singin' In the Rain- Gene Kelly
This one was in the movie "Singin' In The Rain" and unfortunately I've actually never watched it. BUT I know that it has to be a good movie as the song is amazing. It's makes you feel happy and positive about life, so when you're feeling down and sad maybe hit this song up!!
9. You Are My Sunshine- Jimmie Davis
This song is just a feel good happy song. It has been in several movies as soundtracks so there's a good chance you heard of this one too!
10. Dream A Little Dream Of Me- Ella Fitzgerald
The only black female singer- this song is a dreamer. It not only shows GIRL power telling the guy do dream of HER, but it is an equally beautiful song and reassures girls and women that it is ok to make the guy chase us!
