I've been on the Soundcloud scene for a hot minute now, and there is some serious talent I've just so happen to find over the years and the people on this list have grown so much to me and I feel like they need way more attention than they have now. With their unique styles, old school sampling infused with a futuristic sound, structure, and entertaining sound design and character, they really held me down throughout the year. Pardon me if I sound like a music critic or Anthony Fantano. Enjoy.

Monte Booker/Smino:

These two have proven to be the ultimate duo by collaborating on many, many projects and monte's minimalistic, groovy style mixed with random little sounds like ice cubes shaking, car horns, and little crinkles here and there along with Smino's multiple flows and very fun voice along with his very melodic hooks really creates the perfect mixture. They really compliment each other, but even then individually they're amazing. Monte has his own works on his soundcloud and even a few works out with Smino and hopefully an upcoming project soon this year.

Whereisalex:

One of many young prodigies that's been showcasing his talent for the longest, and yet still has yet to get the recognition he clearly deserves. I don't know if this comes from a producers point of view but his song structure, sound design and selection, and overall general musical expertise really keeps me immersed in anything he makes. Even when it came to turning songs we all know well into something totally different like on one of his popular songs "drake flow.", he created such a different mood and tone to it that it felt like a completely different song. Very intelligent and very under appreciated.

J'von:

Not only one of the more lyrical candidates on this list, but quite possibly one of my all time favorite rappers. Not only does he rap, but he produces most of his own music, paints, draws, animates, and is constantly expanding his creative arsenal. His voice is presents a lighter tone than most rappers nowadays, yet when you find yourself actually listening to what he has to say and how well he presents his double entendres and every aspect of his lyrical genius, you'll understand that soon he'll be more than just a soundcloud junkie.

Sam Gellaitry:

My favorite producer right now and has been for the past year or so and honestly one of the most innovative and captivating producer I've ever listened to. Honestly has never failed to impress me and honestly makes me smile every time he comes out with something new. I can never predict whats going to happen next but his composition and wonderful song structure and synth work almost makes me want to cry, figuratively and literally, just about every time. His style is so diverse and pulls me in every single time. I'm never unimpressed nor not excited about anything he's ever put out. He's my number one inspiration when it comes to music and his musical creativity really needs to get some eyes put on him immediatetly.

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Syllabus Week As Told By Kourtney Kardashian

Feeling Lost During Syllabus Week? You're Not Alone!

Kourtney Kardashian

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
