My discovery of music is honestly one of the best things that have happened in my life. Music is something that intrigues my mind that can change my emotion from sad to happy and vice versa. I sang my first solo in public at the age of two. I will never forget I was at my daycare's Christmas program and I saw all the big kids doing their talents. So, I asked my mom can I perform she set it up and within a few minutes it was my turn. I started to sing a Yolanda Adams song entitled “Open my Heart”. People that were in the audience still remember my act of braveness singing by myself at the age of two.
Music has that effect where it allows you to step out of your comfort zone. It gives you this drive to just be yourself; life is too short not to anyways. I have so many songs on my playlist it’s crazy - from the 1900’s to the 2000’s. I enjoy mostly 90’s music. It’s something about listening to Toni Braxton, Anita Baker, Aaliyah, and Boys II Men. Once you hear the beat drop or the wonderful sounds of the different artists, it automatically brings out an emotion that you can’t hide. Everyone has something they go to for just pure fun or when they're feeling down. Music has been a part of my life and will always be.
