People always be talking about how music can really take you away to something different to what you could ever experience at that moment in time. And for me, I firmly believe this. We sometimes overlook the impact that music has on our life and how it can change our emotions and aspects of things, both in the short run and the long run.

Music is probably one of the most magical things we'll be blessed with in our life. There is a song, or tune suitable for any moment in your life, some you will know and others you have no idea about but the truth is there is. It can do so much for you, and what's funny about it is the fact it can change you from day to day. You might have someone who wakes up wanting to listen to a new country artist fresh from Nashville, and then the next day be desperate to listen to a seasoned rapper from the west coast. It is unbelievable how someone else's work can really change your perspective to something. Because of this it really simplifies the concept of calling the person who created it an artist because a lot of enthusiasts for art do say that the work, when it is really good, can take them to a whole different place.

You lay and close your eyes with some music on and you leave where you are for the moment and lose all concept of what is going on around you and you truly believe in like an outside experience because of songs. But this can be different as well. You can train your mind to be in a certain focus and certain kind of music taste you need for a moment. You see almost every athlete when in locker rooms and stepping off of buses with headphones in playing music that gets them focused for a game and ready to go to their own kind of war.

But nothing can top the memories you have from songs, especially those of significance and happiness. A big one for me on this subject is of vacations. I have fond memories of a lot of songs from when I visited Cuba and when I hear them songs, I can still feel the waves crashing around me and the Cuban beach air blowing around. All this can happen through just one song. But like happiness you can get the sadness too. I hear some songs remind me of things that I don't want to be reminded on. For me there is nothing to significant, but for some people they may hear a song and might remind them of a loved one that they lost, or of a relationship that did not work out.

From what we can discover through just a small insight to the impact of music is that it is a monstrous impact on our lives for different reasons, whether it be passing time, reliving a memory, or motivating yourself, you can find a song for any mood you are in. I firmly believe we could not live our normal lives without some kind of music, especially the music that means a lot to us. A lot of people would say "I could go without music" but I challenge you to shut yourself away from YOUR music for a week. None before a game. None with studying. None at all for a personal use. And when you realize how hard it is, you can relate to this quote:

"Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything." - Plato

This quote truly shows what music is, and how it makes us in to a more imaginative and healthy person because of it.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
