Music has been around for a very long time, since the day this earth was first created. As the years went by various type of music started to be created. Music can be used for many purposes, when you feel angry and want to rip someone face off. You would be likely to hear some music that relate to your anger. If you have a broken heart, you may start listening to some break-up songs. If you were in love, you would be likely to listen to love songs.

There are many different worlds of music and I am a fan of all of them. Music has gotten me through some rough times. It has also brought childhood memories that I that I thought I had forgotten. Some of the music that I listen to sometimes inspires me to write the cleverest rap punch lines known to man, it would not be no surprised to me if a few songs inspired an inventor to create the best inventions that we use today. There are even surgeons out there that listen to music while doing a serious operation on a patient for relaxation purposes and to be more focused.

Music takes me away from the world for a while, as if I'm on a little vacation. Whenever I need to focus on homework or just cleaning my house, music makes me focus on whatever I am doing at the moment. Sometimes, I can be cleaning my room while I have some energetic music playing on my ipad or smart phone and I will forgot that other people live in my house. Whenever I am cleaning my house, music makes me sure I leave my house spotless.

Working out and music goes hand to hand. Music can help give you a better performance in exercising. I never workout without music, it keep my blood pumping and want give it a 100% in my hour-long workout. Music makes me forget any discomfort I am experiencing in my workout. One time, I forgot my headphones at home and I notice the difference in my workout without any music. I was not focusing on what I was doing because my mind was all over the place. I had a thousand thoughts running through my mind. I also was looking at the others working out and not looking at what I was doing.

Music sometimes has helped me a lot with sleep. I can put my favorite playlist on for the night, lay on my bed, not make a move, and slowing fall asleep to my B2k playlist (do not judge me). Music prevents me from waking in the middle of the night and will have me well rested in the morning. Before discovering this, I was barely getting any sleep. I would wake up with painful headaches and I would get easily irritated. After I started sleeping with music, it helps me get some good rest.

I can truly say music is good therapy. It is helping me get through the everyday challenges of life. Whenever I have homework, workout, writing the cleverest rap punch lines, or sleep, music was there to give me a helping hand. I am grateful for music, I believe music is the biggest role model out there and will be forever.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
