Everyone has had those days. Ones where it seems like the world is pushing you down. Like no matter how hard you try, you can’t get back up. And while I can promise that it will get better, I know that reading these words won’t do much to help. However, I have found that listening to music can be awesomely therapeutic. Just listening to positive music can do wonders for a negative day. With that said, I have decided to share a snippet of my personal playlist for bad days. If this list manages to help even one person have a better day, then sharing it with the world will have been more than worth it. You can access a playlist of all of these songs here.

Stand - Lenny Kravitz

This is the perfect song for those days when you feel kicked to the ground. This is the perfect motivator to pick yourself up and get moving again.

Almost There - Princess and the Frog

This Disney song is an amazing motivator for getting that impossible task done. You can cross the finish line if you just believe the task can be conquered.

Creative Types - AnimatedJames

Feel upset about your hard work going unnoticed? This song will help you understand that things will work out in the end.

Okay - Ariel, Zoey & Eli

If you need emotional support through rough times, I would highly suggest listening to this. Just hearing that things will be okay tends to help calm the mind a bit.

Breathe (2 AM) - Anna Nalick

There are some days where the universe seems to be bearing down onto your shoulders. As this song suggests, just breathe. Things will get better soon.

Crazy Dreams - Carrie Underwood

Feel like you can’t reach your goals? This song will help you realize that your ambitions are not as crazy as you may think.

Not Alone - Darren Criss

Solidarity is a good way to get past rough times. Knowing that you are not alone in your experiences can really help with feeling better. Even if it’s just through music.

My Shot - Hamilton

Don’t give up on those pivotal decisions! You have all the power you need within you to change your destiny! As the song says, don’t give away your shot.

I’ll Be Okay - McFly

If you can’t imagine tomorrow being better, listen to this and look toward the future. I know it sounds corny, but things will get better. Just believe that they will.

Lost - Michael Bublé

Don’t forget that you have a place in life. You can go out and make your own impact. All you have to do is find yourself. This song is a good way to remind yourself of that.

Unwritten - Natasha Bedingfield

Feel like the future is looming ahead? Listen to this to remember that you have the power to change it. You can write your own story.

Battle Scars - Paradise Fears

Some people reading this may have been fighting for a long time. Don’t ever let your situation cause you to think less of yourself. Listening to this may help you see that your hardships have helped you to become a stronger person than you thought.

The Fighter - Gym Class Heroes

Once you truly believe that you can overcome your hardships, I would listen to this. This will help instill you with the fighting spirit that you need to keep going.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Sister | Brother Style - Word Press

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
