Music majors. We're a unique breed. We've got our own way of communicating, and here's a look into a day in our lives.
Every conversation revolves around some type of show.
You'll listen intently, but you'll never really understand if they're talking about a person they've know their whole lives, or just a character. It is pretty normal to be confused with every conversation.
They have the juiciest gossip... ever.
Do you really think all they do is sit at a piano singing Mozart all day? Well, yeah they do. But at night, these students know how to get down.
Every car ride, they'll perform a free concert for you.
Whether you want to go to the concert or not, they'll belt their lungs out to give you the best performance of their lives. Once you're riding shot gun, their is no getting away. Just buckle up, and enjoy the ride.
They will force you to go to all of their concerts.
Every. Single. One.
You will never understand their inside jokes.
Whatever you say can be their queue for any musical joke or song. Be prepared.
''
Their is no such thing as "an inside voice."
It's important that they be heard. They are stars. Didn't you know?
You find out who the "big stars" are real quick.
The evil looks you receive when you don't know who sings " Don't Rain on my Parade" from the musical, "Funny Girl" will scar you for life. When you do figure out who sings it, don't spell her name with an extra "A". Trust me on that one.
They are not afraid to be brutally honest.
Emphasis on the brutal, music majors are not afraid to tell you how they feel. Especially if it's concerning a song, expect a well thought out explanation on why that Iggy song is terrible and should have never been released.
In the end, you love them anyway and that's what really matters. They will be there for you through thick and thin with a box of tissues and the best music to fit any situation that you happen to find yourself in.
