2018 is about to be filled with the best artists from around the globe gathering in one spot for a weekend. Depending on how far you want to drive or if you can spend money on a flight, here are of the best line-ups this year. A few that I could only dream of attending.
Lollapalooza, Chicago
Even though i'm a three year veteran, Lollapalooza has always given me an incredible time. It is hard to resist 2018 headliner, The Weeknd, after his new album "My Dear Melancholy,". Because I've already seen performances from the Weekend three different times, Travis Scott four times already, and the Arctic Monkeys once, it takes a bit of the fun away. They remain my favorite artists, but what interests me in this lineup is Jack White and Vampire Weekend. The rest of the lineup is ultimately similar every year with many of the same EDM, rap, and alternative artists . I don't think I could do it for a fourth year but overall, it's hard to beat.
Rolling Loud Miami, Florida
While I wouldn't particularly want to book a hotel in Miami and listen to rap music for three days straight, I can't ignore the insane line-up of hip hop artist that this festival has every year. Young Thug, who is not touring or creating music at all during 2018 will make a rare appearance. Future, Migos, Travis Scott, Gucci Mane, and almost any rap artist you can think of will be in attendance.
Panorama, NYC and Coachella, Indio CA
The Weekend, SZA, Migos, Odeza, St. Vincent, the War on Drugs and Daniel Caesar are all incredible artists attending both of these events. While Panorama also includes The XX, Cardi B, and Gucci Mane, Coachella has Beyonce, Alt-J, Vance Joy, and a larger list of high profile bands and celebrities. Equally as promising to me, these line-ups are at the top of the list.
Outside Lands, San Fransisco CA
Unheard of, I came across this line-up on someone's Instagram story. While clearly less popular than Coachella, this lineup includes all of my dream artists: The Weeknd, Florence and the Machine, Future, Odeza, Bon Iver, DJ Snake, Mac Demarco, Daniel Caesar, and Bahamas. My perfect mix of hip-hop, rap, EDM, and alternative music, would say this is my personal favorite.
While a music festival has to include a variety of factors: How far away it is, how affordable it is, which friends you will go with you, are you staying in a hotel or camping, and what the overall vibes of the festival are like, the Line-up is certainly attention catching which is why these 2018 music festivals should be of most importance.
