Music has always played an important role in many people's lives. It has been a saving grace in time of need. Music has been there when no one else has. Music has been a peace in anger, a comfort in sadness, an up lifter in hard times, a relaxation in stress. There's always so many different types of emotions attached to so many different songs, and that's what we love about it.

I remember sitting in my room one night, so angry at my parents after we had a fight. I was punching walls and screaming into my pillow, I was so livid. I couldn't calm down for the life of me no matter what I did and so I did the only thing I could think of; listen to music. I layed on my floor and turned on "Relaxation Radio" on Pandora and felt all my boiling anger slowly subside. My anger turned into desolation, then into peace and into so many different emotions as I listened to each song. I had chills on every inch of my body.

Music is a way to put emotions into words. This generation has so many different types of music that help us express who we are and how we feel. As time goes on it keeps getting harder and harder to express how we feel without judgment, and music allows us to do that in a round a bout way.

For many of us, music has been a saving grace. When we've had a hard day, we crank up the radio and let all the stress fade away. The great thing about music is that there's always a song that fits into any situation. Music is one of the greatest things ever invented.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
