It's officially 2018! Why not start off the new year by adding some lovely new jams to your playlists? Here are 15 music artists who I predict are going to take 2018 by storm and you don't want to miss out!

1. VÉRITE-

VÉRITE is a Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter. Her songs hold so much emotion, and when they connect with the cool sounds, you can't help but fall in love with her.

2. BANNERS-

BANNERS is from Liverpool in the United Kingdom. His sweet music is perfect for that chill evening that you know you want to have.

3. Dua Lipa-

Dua Lipa is another incredible music artist from the United Kingdom. In 2017, she climbed the charts like crazy, and I predict that she will continue to do so in 2018.

4. Handsome Ghost-

Handsome Ghost is an indie band from Boston, MA. They have some great tunes, "Handsome Ghost" being one of them.

5. Bad Suns-

Bad Suns have been a favorite of many for the past few years and I bet they will continue to be this year. They have so many live videos, even ones on the beach and you should check them out!

6. The Band CAMINO-

I discovered The Band CAMINO when I was listening to my "discover weekly" on Spotify. Ever since I have fallen in love with this sweet sounding band. I hope they tour soon near me so I can see them live!

7. Pale Waves-

If you like the band, The 1975, you are going to love Pale Waves. Super cool sound and even cooler lyrics. Plus, The 1975's Matty Healy directed the music video to Pale Wave's song, "Television Romance."

8. Noah Kahan-

Noah Kahan was another artist that climbed up the charts in 2017 and I'm sure he's going to do it again soon. He has some incredible tunes, one being "Hurt Somebody," and another being the hit, "Young Blood."

9. Flor-

Flor is an indie rock/synth-pop band from Los Angeles, California. They too have a sweet sound and if you add their tunes to your playlist, I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

10. Cobi-

Cobi describes himself as a multi-dimensional singer/songwriter from Minneapolis, Minnesota and he definitely is a great one.

11. Judah & The Lion-

Even if you aren't a fan of folk music you will love Judah & The Lion. Their music is so upbeat and fun and if you ever have the chance to attend a show, you better because it is one heck of a time!

12. Local Natives-

Local Natives is an indie rock band from Los Angeles, California. Their music is another that you definitely need to add to that playlist of yours.

13. COIN-

You can't help but love COIN! COIN is a synth-spiked indie pop band from Nashville, Tennessee. They are another band that you need to see live if you get the chance because it is so much fun!

14. Dagny-

Dagny is an alternative pop artist from Tromsø, Norway. Her music is honest, fun, and a necessity for any 2018 playlist.

15. Lauv-

Like many others on this list, Lauv is another artist that climbed the charts in 2017. You most likely know him because of his hit tune, "I Like Me Better." However, he has many other boppin' tunes.

Give at least one of these 15 artists a chance and add them to your 2018 playlist. You won't regret it!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
