Music is present in almost everything that we do. When you get in the car, you turn on music. When you are shopping in the store, music is playing around you. Even when you are walking down the beach, you are surrounded by the different varieties of music playing out of boom boxes lined up for miles. There are very few places you can go without hearing music. For most of us, music is a very important part of the everyday routine.

Personally, it is hard for me to get things done without background music. Before going to bed, I always turn on music and set a sleep timer to turn it off on its own. There are few nights where I won’t listen to music before bed. My favorite part of music is the way it makes me feel. Music has a way of taking you to another place. Sometimes, I will be driving and the song will change and next thing you know I am in tears driving down the road for no reason whatsoever. Or the opposite can occur and I will be dancing and singing along to the radio. I have certain songs that are designated for certain situations, and I know I am not the only one that does that.
It is kind of crazy the way that music works. Whether you are happy, sad, mad, frustrated or even hyper, there is something for you. If you want to have a raging concert in the shower then bring it on because you have so many options. Some people can get through very tough situations with the help of artists and the lyrics that are sung.
I love the way that artists pour their hearts out into their music. I listen to alternative/indie mostly and I know that for the most part there is deeper meaning behind the lyrics. Some of my favorite artists are The 1975, DNCE, Mumford and Sons, The Neighbourhood and even Adele on occasion. These artists are known for throwing their hearts into their music and even letting fans in on the deep and sometimes depressing moments in their life, which can be very inspiring.
Being at a concert is probably one of the best perks of music. Seeing your favorite band live can truly be a life-changing experience. I know that for me, I had two concerts that left me out of breath and left with an overwhelming void of emptiness after it ended. The first concert that I ever went to was The Jonas Brothers… Now I know what you are thinking … but growing up those guys changed my life and seeing them live just filled my heart with happiness and left me floating for weeks. The other concert that absolutely swept me off my feet was The 1975. Something about how honest their music is leaves me in tears. Matty Healy (the lead singer) even gets choked up singing some of the heartfelt lyrics. Their music helps you to experience the good times, the bad times, and even the super ugly times and that’s just one of the many reasons why I love that band.
Whether you know it or not, music plays a part in your life and the way you think every day! But hey, at least it can be fun in the process and make you feel an abundance of emotions at all times!
