You may be a music junkie if you're constantly checking Spotify for new music, scouring YouTube for something you've never heard before, or refreshing the lineup page every second on Coachella's website. If so, you're probably wondering what's in store for 2017 with regards to music. Here are some confirmed rumors about what's coming to your ears soon.

1. Lady Gaga to perform at the Super Bowl LI halftime show

After singing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl in 2016, Lady Gaga is back to headline the halftime show at which Coldplay, Bruno Mars and Beyonce all performed last year. The news was announced September 2016 when Lady Gaga tweeted, "It's not an illusion. The rumors are true. This year the SUPER BOWL goes GAGA!" There are swirling speculations as to the theme of her show, but no one puts it past her to make it a theatrical performance.

2. AFI to release their tenth studio album

Self-titled AFI, and also referred to as The Blood Album, the band is planning to release their newest recording on January 20. The recording contains 14 songs, including singles "Snow Cats" and "White Offerings." AFI has been together since 1991 but did not find success until their fifth album The Art of Drowning was released in 2000. Since then, two albums, Sing the Sorrow and Decemberunderground, have earned Platinum certification.

3. New album coming from Brad Paisley

The popular country singer Brad Paisley, known for singles "Remind Me" and "Whiskey Lullaby," is due to release a new recording called Love and War on March 3. According to Paisley, it will include recent singles "Today" and "Without a Fight," the latter of which features Demi Lovato. This will be his 11th studio album and is rumored to include the voices of Mick Jagger and Timbaland.

4. Coachella already sold out

The Coachella music festival, located in California, released its final 2017 lineup on January 3 and a completely sold out website swiftly followed. Among its biggest performers this year are Beyonce, Radiohead, Kendrick Lamar, Bon Iver, and Lorde. Since its inception in 1999, Coachella has become one of the biggest and most anticipated music festivals in the US.

5. Charli XCX's third release in May

Charli XCX has almost become a household name after just a few years of being in mainstream pop music. Her career had a major takeoff after featuring on Iggy Azalea's "Fancy" in early 2014, and the release of Charli XCX's own song "Boom Clap" skyrocketed her fame, earning her Platinum certification in Australia. Her newest studio album is not yet named but will include her most recent single "After the Afterparty," released in late October 2016.

6. Bella Thorne revealed to be working on a 2017 release

The 19-year-old actress from Disney's Shake It Up has confirmed rumors of new music to be released in 2017 via Twitter, tweeting "it's true." Thorne is primarily an actress at the moment, but she's explored the music scene before with her two EPs Made in Japan and Jersey. Her voice has also been featured on multiple soundtrack albums from Shake It Up.

7. Music festivals galore this year

Coachella is definitely not the country's only music festival this year. Other big festivals include Warped Tour, Bonnaroo, and Lollapalooza. Warped Tour is set to begin in Seattle on June 16 and wrap up on August 6 in Los Angeles, and is expected to release the official lineup and begin ticket sales in late March. Bonnaroo, located in Manchester, TN, will release its lineup on January 11, with some speculating possible headliners to include U2 and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Lollapalooza will take place in Chicago as usual and is set for August 3-6, but no word yet on the lineup or tickets.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Cambio
