Everybody has their "spirit animal" or movie character who they feel they relate to the most. I personally feel as if my spirit animal is a cat, but that's not what I am going to discuss today. I am instead, going to discuss why Mulan is my soul Disney character, and why her and I are practically the same person. And I want to say right now that the connection isn't purely because we are both Asian, which we are (but that's not my only reason!).

1. We both love riding horses.

Look at her expression! She is so happy, she's practically in heaven. She doesn't care that she's riding off to war because she's riding a horse. Horseback riding just makes everything better. It's my safe place. Mulan and her horse are inseparable.

2. We both wear the pants in the relationship. Let's be real.

Look at Mulan, easily making Shang bow down to her pet dragon. She can get him on his knees in two seconds.

3. We both have friends who are way too blunt.

They may make us want to run the other way as fast as we can, but they're our sidekick and we signed up for this.

4. We both make dumb faces when cute guys get really close.

Attractive, right? I mean that's why all the guys just flock to us. Mulan gets me.

5. We make the same expression when food gets taken away too.

I, for one, know that this is exactly what I look like when someone tries to take away my food. I wasn't done! Nope. Not cool.

6. When working out, it's all or nothing. Go hard or go home.

If you're not working up a sweat, you're not working hard enough. Feel the burn. Feel the determination.

7. We fall back on desperate measures when we don't have enough time to study for a test.

(Just kidding.)

8. Our long hair just gets in our way.

Sometimes it's so annoying that I just want to chop it all off. Mulan actually did it though. That's dedication.

9. I would have the exact same reaction if a creepy old man with a weird beard and mustache grabbed my arm.

Gross...

10. HUGS ARE THE BEST.

Mulan definitely agrees with me.

11. We like dancing weirdly.

12. Finally, we are both individuals with multiple sides to us. Some hidden, like being a secret warrior, some not. But nonetheless, they're all there. It's just a matter of finding them.
