1. The campus is absolutely breathtaking

5,192 acres of pure beauty. Especially in the fall.

2. The athletic program

Fight! Fight! Rah! Team, Fight! Victory for MSU. Proud to be in the Big 10.

3. The diversity

Michigan State's wide variety of cultures, backgrounds, demographics and religions make for the best possible college atmosphere. You meet people from all over the globe and have the opportunity to learn new cultures and ideas that you never considered before.

4. Variety of academic opportunities

As one of the world's top 100 universities, MSU has over 200 programs of undergraduate, graduate and professional study.

5. The tradition and history

The history of our college dates all the way back to 1855, the year we were established. We were the first institution of higher learning in the United States to teach scientific agriculture, as well as the first to pioneer the studies of packaging, horticulture and music therapy. With over 160 years of history, that leaves a lot of room for tradition. The biggest tradition? The birth of the "Spartans" nickname adopted in 1926 and the statue dedicated in June of 1945.

6. Tailgating

Who doesn't love a good burger and beer? Mix in your favorite football team and your favorite people on your favorite campus, and there really isn't anything better.

7. Study abroad programs

Every year, close to 3,000 MSU students study abroad in over 275 programs that take place in more than 60 countries around the world.

8. The professors, faculty and staff

Approximately 5,542 faculty and academic staff from only the best of the best. Most professors have expert field knowledge on their subject of study and are able to offer their outside gained perspective into their teaching, which makes for more interesting lectures and a personal connection to the material.

9. Downtown East Lansing

Rick's, Harpers, Land Shark, P.T.'s, The Riv, Dublin and Crunchy's. All within a mile of one another. Not to mention Chipotle, Conrads, Jersey Mikes, Jimmy Johns, Cottage Inn and more. The perfect late night set-up for any socialite.

10. Spartan pride

Bleed green, baby. Once a Spartan, always a Spartan. It's that Spartan pride that makes MSU the absolute best school around.
