There comes a time in almost every young person's life when it comes time to fledge the nest. In other words, move out. All the way up to the brink of the decision, it seems like a far off fantasy. Well, that time has come. And it's nothing like you imagined.

There is a lot less partying and adventure and whole lot more working and paying bills you hadn't even thought of. What you find out is that moving out of the house is all about budgeting. Budgeting, budgeting, budgeting.

The word sounds scary. It sounds like miserly counting every penny and never having any fun. This common misconception could not be further from the truth. In fact, budgeting is not really about saving money! Budgeting is simply planning ahead for what you will spend. This is fundamental to being financially stable while living on your own.

What is great about this tool is that it makes it possible to attend the parties and embark on the adventures without breaking the bank. It is simply listing expenses and prioritizing. You can't afford to drop four hundred dollars on a cruise if the rent is not payed. So, you make a list. Needs first, then savings, and finally, luxuries.

When you are following this "priority plan," not only can you have fun knowing that the bills are paid, but also you are always prepared for unexpected expenses. t gets better.

In our day and age, gaining access the great budgeting tool is easier than ever! There are a multitude of applications available for phone or computer that make this very easy. In many cases, you can even link your bank accounts and import transactions to closely track spending.

In the end, moving out doesn't have to be the intimidating financial monster that it looks like. By utilizing a simple budgeting tool you can take control of your bills and have fun while exploring the world on your own!

Dear High School Friend Group,

My sweet angels, where would I be without you guys. We all grew up together because we either met in middle school or high school and watched each other grow up and get "old." We got to go to prom together and then graduate together. Then watched each other as we continued our lives in college, joining sororities and meeting people who will impact our lives forever. It all has happened so fast.

Oh college, we can’t live with you, but we can’t live without you. It’s a love/hate relationship, really. College is an experience that no one can ever prepare you for, and maybe that’s a good thing. You never really expect any of the things that college encompasses until you are there. College is fun, but don’t have too much fun. C’s get degrees, but they don’t get you into graduate school.

Blair Waldorf

The "Gossip Girl" series may be over, but Blair Waldorf's iconic character lives in our hearts forever. Blair was the queen of the Upper East Side, and a character you either loved or hated. She taught us everything we needed to know about life, love and of course, how to score a Chuck Bass. So the next time you feel a bit lost and are in need of guidance, look no further than to the Queen B herself.

As I spend my Sunday avoiding my homework and other adult responsibilities, I realized that I've watched this series over and over about a million times. Sadly, there isn't a Blair quote I don't know, so I came up with a list of a few favorites. You know you love her...xoxo
