Moving on. Letting go.

Letting go of those who we thought we loved the most can sometimes be the hardest thing to do. In the end, though we need to do what is best for us. People don't always turn out to be the person we hope they would be. If you are one of those people who always puts others before themselves then letting go may even be harder. This is because you put so much time into one specific individual and give all you have to offer, but they may not do that for you. If that is the case please, move on and let go.

Here are some ways to help move on and let go of toxic people:

Compare and contrast

Make a list. Have one side be for positives and one side for negatives. When you're done coming up with ideas of the good and bad that come from someone, see what our ways the other. If it is way more negatives than positives, maybe it is time to say goodbye.

Remove/ delete pictures

Maybe don't delete every single picture or video you share with someone who you think needs to be left in the past, but clear out. Clear out your camera roll on your phone, clear out pictures on social media, just delete anywhere you may see it a lot. If you keep something private for memories put it into a keepsake box.

Change your status

Single now? Change it. Don't let it remain as if you're in a relationship because that gives the other person the satisfaction of thinking you can't move on. Even if it stings for a while and you really can't move on, for now, don't let them know that.

Keep your eyes and mind open

By this I mean, though you may personally be trying to move on and let go just be aware of what the other person is doing. They may try and fix things but make sure they're not just playing you. It's okay to know what they're doing if in the end, it's going to help you protect yourself. No, you are not crazy if you every so often take a look at their social media to see what they've been up to.

Remember, you are worth something and just because someone may not treat you as well as you treat them, that doesn't mean you're worthless. If you start to feel that way then just move on and let go.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
