Moving Into College As A Freshman Is Total Madness

Moving into college, as a freshman, and the craziness that comes along with it.

Every college student deals with moving into their dorm if they are staying on campus. But what no one tells you is how hectic the whole moving in situation really is.

Unloading cars is the craziest part. You put everything on the curb and move your car so the next people can pull up to empty their cars. Then you bring everything to your room which is more than likely going to be on an upper floor. Bringing in your things is crazy because everyone is trying to do everything all at once. Everyone is in everyone's way and you become impatient, hot and sweaty. You can either wait for the elevator, which is massively slow from all the people using it, or you can carry your 59-pound items up three flights of stairs.

After the things are up and in your room is when you can finally breathe and relax. Personally, however, I find unpacking and decorating the room the hardest part of the move in process. It takes time and patience and creativity. All of which I lack whenever I'm wore out from bringing up box after box to the third floor.

On the plus side, everyone helping us move in is incredibly kind and helpful. They are more than willing to lend a hand and help you move in and that makes a world of difference.

Once you've officially moved in, decorated and made your room your new home, the realization finally hits you that this is it. This is you moving out and becoming an adult. It's the beginning of your life and it's all up to you from here.

Having a good move in experience is important to have a positive and happy first day and college experience.

You start your own destiny today, so make it count.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
