Packing For School As A Sophomore As Told By 10 Spongebob GIFs

There are some major differences between packing for college as a freshman and packing as a sophomore. For example, there are less than 10 days before I move in, and all I've done is locate my bedding and move some boxes around 'cause you're a PRO now ;) !

I know some people have been counting down the days since they moved out at the end of spring. But I've honestly lost track of time, and just this morning I realized just how fast this semester is coming up. I immediately began to panic, especially after going abroad in the spring, I've nearly forgotten about what I actually need. I tried to look through what I had from the fall, but I got overwhelmed and took a nap instead.

This is a huge difference from going into freshman year- a month before moving in, I was ready to go. I had hit Bed, Bath & Beyond with coupons in one hand and a long list in the other. I had decorations picked out and a vision of how my room was going to look.

Going into sophomore year, it's almost the complete opposite. Here was my thought process throughout today:

1. Shoot, I move in in two weeks!

Me, after checking Instagram and seeing Nova posts about the start of the school year.

2. Do I even need to go back to school shopping?

Me, laying in bed, thinking about all the stuff I had organized so nicely just one summer ago and assuming I can just use the same stuff.

3. Wait, where did I put all my stuff from last year?

After breakfast, I looked through my stuff and attempted to organize it, but I got overwhelmed in the middle of doing that. So, now there are piles of random things in my room that I have to walk around to get to my bed.

4. I know I don't need new bedding, but I really like this new print.

Since I got overwhelmed by the stuff I already had, I decided to check out new things and fell down the rabbit hole of back-to-school online shopping. You really can't go wrong with Urban Outfitters bedding. I found a set that had a pretty array of flowers across it, but...

5. Ugh, why is it so expensive?!

... then I checked the price and decided that new bedding is definitely not in my budget.

6. Shoot, I have to get textbooks.

On the topic of expensive items, I started looking at the list of books I need for my classes.

7. But do I really need textbooks??

Then, I started thinking about the textbooks I bought the previous semesters that I had only used maybe three times and are now in a box in my basement with the rest of my forgotten school projects.

8. Why is it so expensive?! (round 2)

I chose the cheapest option for all my books (I ain't got money to spare this time around to buy fresh new books for each class), and the total! is! still! ridiculous! I can sacrifice new bedding BUT not tools for education... *mindset tip*

9. Oh man, how am I supposed to even start packing?!

How the heck do I efficiently pack everything?? *imagination* Fingers crossed my Prius can fit it all... (Fun fact: I took 2 cars to Nova moving in freshman year)

10. Whatever, I'll just organize when I get there. Maybe.

Exasperated, I decided that I'll just shove everything into boxes and organize when I actually move in. Honestly, I'm probably just going to sleep with boxes around me, and it might take a week for all that stuff to get out of the boxes.

It is that time of year again. Christmastime. It is one of my favorite seasons for a myriad of reasons. Here are just a few reasons why I love Christmas. This list is in no order of importance.

1. The Christmas decorations

I am that person who will decorate directly after Thanksgiving is over. This year, my roommates and I put the tree up in our apartment before we even left for Thanksgiving break. It is a great stress reliever for me to just sit in my living room and work on the huge amount of work I have before the semester is over.

Mistakes are something we all make, no matter how old we get. Most of the time, the mistakes we made are little and sometimes due to something out of our control. Yet, there are mistakes that are bigger than others. Personally, I have mistakes that I wish I could go back and undo. Here they are:

5 Things To Do That Are Better Than Writing A Paper

Don't waste your time trying to write that paper when there are so many more interesting things you could be doing.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?
