How To Move Forward Against Trump
Pinterst Febuary Revolution

So far, millions have marched, every day, around the world. The US has seen the most turmoil since maybe the American Revolutionary War and Civil War. This is the time of not only change for America, but change for the world. Airports, schools, businesses, and more, has been shut down. People are probably on strike at this very moment against Trump.

So, this says something about the political climate of the future, though you cannot predict empirically change without other facts. One fact is, that it is historically noted that turmoil can escalate into a revolution. The 1905 Russian Revolution did not come out of nowhere, it rose up from centuries of struggle of the peasantry and then the workers, and was finally kick-started by revolutionary leadership in Russia and other states in solidarity that were going through their own struggles. It was even progressed after Russia’s war with Japan. The Paris Commune is noted to be an important moment in history when it was the first time the proletariat of France rose up against the bourgeoisie. That moment sparked inspiration for more writings from Marx, who had only at the time the experiences of the developing social-economic strata. He knew, however, that he could not predict how exactly the proletariat were going to change society until the time came, but he predicted that it would, and he predicted correctly. Fast forward to Russia 1917, when after the October Revolution the Bolshevik Party, comprised of mostly workers with revolutionary aim to overthrow the capitalist and oppressive state and transform it into a democratic council alongside hopefully other states, took power. As soon as the Bolsheviks took power, they assumed a democratic way of running the government, with fair voting, oversight, and accountability. These are elements that Russia government has never had, and now they were transformed rather quickly. This was notable progress. In addition to the change in the government, the quality of life improved for the average Russian more than it ever had for some time. Homosexuality became legal, education became more accessible, women’s rights were improved, and more. This is important. More info on the 1917 revolution can be found at socialistworld.net and 1917revolution.org. This type of positive change also appears after the Cuban Revolution. Today, Cuba has a very high life expectancy for such a poor country, and one of the most affordable and high-quality healthcare systems in the world.

Today, it is helpful to look back at events like this to see a future for society. During the Russian Revolution, the Bolshevik party actually not only grew immensely between 1905 and 1917, but changed in characteristic to becoming a party with the power to force change, not just demand it. If you really want to create a lot of material change, it not only needs education and force, but overall organization from a democratic party. It is complicated today, but with more conversation on these issues between people accurate evaluations of history, and access to a leftist group you can trust, you can help build the movement for change in some way similarly to the Russians and others then and in many points in history. For example, in the Committee for Workers International, many people from all over the world stand in solidarity to grotesque acts from capitalism and other forms of oppression, and the organization also has a party platform. With a party platform, good ideas and power and energy can be more practically put into action with less waste.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

eye roll

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

Yify

Another day, another Elle Woods comment. Can’t us blondes get through the day without someone harping at us over the typical stereotypes about who we are? I never understood why a person was judged based upon the hair color they were born with, or the hair color they choose to have (unless you dye your hair blue like Kylie Jenner, I’m still trying to understand why that’s a trend). Nevertheless, as it should be assumed, not everyone is the same. Not all blondes like bright colors and Lilly Pulitzer, and not all blondes claim to identify with Marilyn Monroe. I think the best suggestion to give to people before they make such radical claims is to stop judging a book by its cover. Or in this case, stop judging a blonde by her hair color.
