For those of you who are either moving into your first house or on to your next, you've definitely had these thoughts and experiences in the last week or will in the future when you move. It's a crazy time to say the least.

1. Staring at all your crap in awe of how much crap you have.

Whether you're packing up or unloading, we've all taken a good five minutes to do this and been genuinely shocked. Can we think about this for a second though? When did we accumulate all of this? Like seriously?

2. Stalling.

It's amazing the creativity we all of a sudden have when we want to avoid packing and unpacking. There's a number of things I don't like doing but when it comes to moving I'd rather do all of them instead.

3. Packing.

Normal people sort there things out and pack in an orderly manner. Nope, not me. The box isn't full until you literally cant cram anything else into it.

4. Wanting to get everything done because you're tired of living out of boxes.

After tripping over boxes for a few days (or hours) this rush of wanting to be productive and get everything unpacked sets in.

5. Getting tired of being productive.

So one box gets unpacked and then I'm pretty much over it. Like five minutes ago I was all for this but now I just want to take a nap that lasts all of eternity.

6. Realizing you haven't eaten all day and feeling like you're going to die.

"Oh it's 8 p.m. and we've been moving since 6 a.m.? Whoops!" Oh so that wasn't someone moving furniture that was just my stomach.

7. The first trip to Walmart.

Everything...I need EVERYTHING. Until I get up to the register and realize just how expensive everything is. HAVE A GAME PLAN

8. The multiple trips to Walmart for the things you keep forgetting.

My goal currently is to see how many days I can avoid going to Walmart. So far I've lasted a full zero days.

9. Realizing just how big or small your house is.

Either you have way too much stuff and it doesn't fit or your house looks like you just got robbed.

10. Feeling rich for like five seconds until you pay rent.

It was a great feeling while it lasted right? (I might have held on to that check a little tighter than I should have. It's fine. I'm fine. We're fine.)

11. Scanning buy sell trade pages for all the things you need but are too broke to afford.

Or doing the opposite and trying to sell anything and everything to get some extra cash.

12. The feeling of laying down for the first time after moving all day.

HEAVENLY ... seriously.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
