Movies, TV Shows, and Books to Keep You Cozy During the Fall

Fall is the perfect season to just lounge around in bed watching or reading something that comforts and cleanses the heart. I have come up with a list of the most perfect movies, tv shows, and books to keep you company while you are cocooned in blankets and sipping on hot tea.

1. When Harry Met Sally

This 80s classic is just a good ol’ romantic comedy that is witty and will make you fall in love with New York in fall. If anything, you should watch it just for the famous diner scene.

2. Hocus Pocus

Because it would just be wrong to not put a Halloween film in a list for fall. This movie is charming and fun to watch, not one of those Halloween movies that will scare you out of your fall comfort.

3. Dan in Real Life

It takes place during Thanksgiving in a cabin that will make you feel warm and cozy. It gives you the whole aura of fall and it will make you laugh because, well, Steve Carell.

4. Monsters, Inc.

I don't know why, but this movie just seems like something you would watch during the fall. I guess because it has monsters in it, but also because it is a great Pixar animated movie that you should always find an excuse to watch.

5. Bambi

If you want to have a good cry fest in your blankets this is the perfect movie to watch. The appeal of the forest and the adorable creatures roaming around will make the pain your heart will feel when you watch it, worth it.

6. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

This movie might be based more during the winter, but it is fitting for the fall too. It is an independent film with Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet. It is not only unique and great story, but the acting job by Kate Winslet and especially Jim Carrey is very different from any other acting they have done before.

7. Gilmore Girls

This tv show is the type of thing that you will want to spend all day on the couch watching. It is based in a utopian small town and follows the lives of a single mom and her teenage daughter who are more like best friends than mother and daughter. The show is both witty and hilarious, and not only will you be able to catch up on a great early 2000s comedy, you can also get prepared for the revival that is premiering in November on Netflix

8. American Horror Story

This tv show might be creepy, but honestly who doesn't like watching something at least a little scary during the fall? Have no fear though, this show is more creepy and morbid. And it will also teach you to never own a house where someone was murdered.

9. Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

This is a great book series that you will just want to pick up and read over the course of the fall months. It is a young adult fantasy series about a badass assassin named Celaena Sardothian who is brought back into society after being in a labor camp to compete to become the King's champion and to be granted freedom after four years of service.

10. Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon

It is a short read and beautifully made and written. The book is easy to read and actually has pictures and doodles in it that coincide with the story. It follows the story of a girl who has been in her house all of her life due to a sickness. She is perfectly fine with how her life has been but at the age of 18, she starts to wonder what all she has missed.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
