Despite how 2016 was kinda crappy, it was a great year for movies. Zootopia, Arrival, Captain America: Civil War, Sully, Snowden, Deadpool, and Fantastic Beasts, to name a few of my favorites. But 2017 is shaping up to have lots of good material coming. Here's a list of some of the movies I'm really looking forward to in 2017.

Spider-Man: Homecoming

Tom Holland is a lil' cutie pie and Zendaya is a beautiful goddess whom I love. Sign me up. I am so excited. Also, fingers crossed for no origin story!

Logan

This seems like a really interesting concept, and I'm really looking forward to seeing old man Logan.

Guardians of the Galaxy 2

There's just something about playing "Hooked on a Feeling" behind a bunch of explosions and action sequences. It cracks me up every time.

Wonder Woman

God bless Gal Gadot, God bless Chris Pine, and God bless that dope ass guitar riff for the theme. *insert multiple heart-eyes emojis here*

Justice League

Superman's not dead? Aquaman is actually a badass? Hopefully DC does a good job with this one.

Baywatch

I just love Zac Efron, guys. Like I can't even explain. And The Rock is fantastic as well.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle

No trailer has been released yet, but considering how fantastic that first movie was, I have high hopes for this and will definitely be seeing it in theaters.

Beauty and the Beast

Although I'm not sure how I feel about Disney's whole take-all-our-classic-movies-and-make-them-live-action deal they've got going on, I'm totally gonna see this because A) it looks cool and B) Emma Watson.

Cars 3

I just wanna know what happens to Lightning McQueen!

Descendants 2

Confirmed: I am Disney Channel trash. Also confirmed: I don't care, I am so excited for this second film I can't even explain it. The first one was really good and this second one looks like it's gonna be even more amazing.

Power Rangers

While the trailer was noticeably darker than perhaps the TV series is/was, this movie looks like an interesting take on the Power Rangers. Sign me the heck up, this looks dope af.

Dunkirk

I'm not gonna lie, I'm really just gonna see this for Harry Styles. He just has a face that's nice to look at, and I want to see how big of a role he has and if he's any good.

The Circle

I love Tom Hanks and I love Emma Watson and I love John Boyega and I love how this trailer seems happy and cool but then just steadily gets creepier and creepier by the end.

Star Wars: Episode VIII

...duh.

There are a few other movies that I didn't put on the list, simply because it was getting long enough as it is. But I have a feeling that 2017 will be yet another good year for movies. While you finish perfecting your New Year's Resolutions list, make sure to add these movies to that list!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
