Going to the movie theatre is one of my favorite activities to do. I am a film lover and a media major with a concentration in film, so I spend a lot of my free time watching movies. In fact, my whole family loves movies and it is one of the things we bond over. Every year I make a mental list of the movies I am excited to see. I have compiled a list of the movies I am excited to see for the rest of the year, and I am sure you are going to want to see some of these too!

1. Kingsman: The Golden Circle September 22, 2017

This is the sequel to Kingsman; The Secret Service, which came out in 2014. The plot revolves around the Kingsman discovering an allied spy organization in the U.S. after their headquarters are destroyed by a mutual enemy.

2. Blade Runner 2049 October 6, 2017

The long-awaited sequel to 1982's Blade Runner center's around a new blade runner (Ryan Gosling) that is on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford) who has not been seen in over thirty years.

3. Suburbicon October 27, 2017

Set in the 1950's picture-perfect town of Suburbicon, a deadly home invasion forces a family to turn to blackmail, revenge, and murder. It has a great cast (Matt Damon, Oscar Isaac, and Julianne Moore) and is directed by George Clooney, so this is sure to be a great movie.

4. Thor: Ragnarok November 3, 2017

The third installment of the Thor trilogy finds Thor imprisoned and forced into a gladiator contest against the Hulk. Additionally, he must prevent Hela from destroying Asgard and its civilization.

5. Star Wars: The Last Jedi December 15, 2017

The second movie in the new Star Wars trilogy follows Rey after she finds Luke Skywalker and continues her journey with Finn and Poe Dameron.

With these movies to look forward to, I am very excited to see what 2018 has in store for us!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
