If you are a fan of singing in movies, or TV shows, you probably love musicals. However, some movies and shows featuring singing are not necessarily categorized as musicals. Many movie plots involve some sort of singing.
Movies that feature singing can be just as good as a musical. When you find a movie or a TV show with singing, it can be a real surprise at how well some actors can sing.
1. “Country Strong”
If you love country music, you will love this movie. Also, Garrett Hedlund: I would give in to you anytime.
2. “Burlesque”
One Legend + One Star = AMAZING SONGS. Wish we could all move to LA and become this awesome!
3. “Walk the Line”
I wish I had a love like Johnny and June. Not only is the singing amazing, but the story behind the legend as well!
4. “Pitch Perfect”
Organized nerd singing, what could go wrong? This movie taught us that we all need a Fat Amy in our lives!
5. “Raise Your Voice”
We first fell in love with Hilary Duff as Lizzie McGuire, and then all over again as Terri. Can't we all become musical stars?!
6. “Glee”
A bunch of high school kids started a club to sing, making us all want to start similar clubs. I sang a "Glee" song once for choir, it was pretty great.
7. “Nashville”
Rayna James and Juliet Barnes face off for the title of "Queen of Country Music." Rayna and Deacon no one will ever love you like you love each other, so figure your shit out.
8. “Smash”
A TV show about people making a musical. What could be better? Maybe the fact that it's a musical about Marilyn Monroe?!
9. “Grey’s Anatomy” -- The Musical Event Episode
I am a bit embarrassed to admit, but this was one of my favorite episodes. That moment you didn’t think the “Grey’s Anatomy” cast could get any better, they throw this episode at you. Karev, why have you been hiding those beautiful vocal skills? Still salty we didn't get to hear Derek Shepard sing...
10. “Supernatural” 200th Episode
Though we aren’t blessed with Jared and Jensen showing their singing skills, we still get to hear an amazing rendition of “Carry on My Wayward Son.” BRB sobbing.
11. “One Tree Hill"
Though the show itself doesn't always center on music, it does feature singing every now and then. Peyton starts the Red Bedroom Records Label and Haley has a short career singing. Though we liked Haley's songs, we weren't fans of her leaving Nathan, am I right?
So you see, not all movies and TV shows have to be a musical to be good! These shows are just as popular and are pretty amazing as far as the singing goes
