7 Movies In Theaters Now That You Need To See

I love going to the movies. There's something about driving to the theater, reclining with some popcorn and escaping reality for a bit. With the holiday season dwindling to a close, you're probably looking for some flicks to check out. Below are some of the most popular movies on the big screen right now you might want to see.

1. Collateral Beauty

Will Smith stars as a successful New York advertising executive who suffers from a tragedy in the film. As he disconnects himself from the world around him and his friends seek to bring him back to reality, he decides to write letters to Love, Time and Death. It isn't long before his notes bring unexpected responses, and he begins to recognize the beauty that can sometimes be found in loss and suffering.

2. Why Him?

Bryan Cranston stars as Ned, a caring but somewhat overprotective father who travels to California to visit his daughter Stephanie, played by Zoey Deutch, at Stanford University. During his visit, he meets her rather interesting boyfriend Laird, played by James Franco. Ned disapproves of the influence Laird has over his daughter, regardless of the fact that he is a billionaire.

3. Passengers

On a journey from Earth to new home, Homestead II, two passengers in hibernation are awakened 90 years too soon due to a malfunction on their spacecraft. Jim and Aurora face their inevitable fate in possibly living out the rest of their lives on the ship with everything they could ever ask for. It isn't long before they begin to fall for each other, but their attraction for each other is put to the test when they discover the ship is in grave danger.

4. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

Eddie Redmayne stars as Newt Scamander, who has just finished a global excursion where he discovered a vast array of mythical creatures. After stopping briefly in New York, some of Newt's fantastic beasts escape, which could be trouble for not only the wizard world but also the human world.

5. Sing

This animated film features the ever-dapper Koala Buster Moon, who oversees a once-famous theater that is experiencing some difficult times. Being an optimist, he desires to do anything to preserve the theater and return it to its formal glory. In his attempt, he decides to produce the world's largest singing competition with a variety of interesting contestants: a mouse, an elephant, a pig, a gorilla and a punk-rock porcupine.

6. Manchester by the Sea

Casey Affleck stars as Lee Chandler, who is mourning the death of his older brother Joe. Chandler is shocked to discover that Joe has made him the sole guardian of his nephew, Patrick. He returns to Manchester-by-the-Sea, the fishing village where his working-class family has lived for generations. While there, he is forced to learn how to deal with the community where he was born and raised as well as what separated him from his wife Randi, played by Michelle Williams.

7. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Galen Erso, a former scientist, is an ordinary man living on a farm with his wife and daughter, but his life comes crashing down when the ever-evil Orson Krennic separates him from his family and peaceful way of life. Many years later, Galen is now the Empire's lead engineer for the most powerful weapon in the galaxy, the Death Star. His daughter Jyn, knowing that her father holds the key to its destruction, decides to join forces with a spy and other resistance fighters to steal the space station's plans for the Rebel Alliance.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
